I am riding at the FRF since 2008 and had an opportunity to stable 2 horses and took lesson from several trainers. Currently my trainer is Suzanne Habereck. I desribe my experience as outstanding: FRF has a state of the art stables and excellent 24 hrs care for horses. The indoor show rind is amazing and gives riders opportunity to practice in any weather. The owners of the barn Kurt and Teri Runens are dedicated to their life long passion-love of care for horses and the art of equitation. I can't say enough about Suzanne Habereck - she is a World Class Equitation Trainer and Horse Trainer and have an exceptional gift of connecting with Her students and horses. I had a privilege and honor not only learn from her but also observe her taking many of new, FRF riders to become champions in all of the Regional and National events. If you are dreaming to become a champion or simply dreaming of learning to make a connection with a beautiful animal and learn to ride - FRF and Suzanne are here to make your experience outstanding! Britt is a great horse person, and I know from working in the industry how hard that is to find. I sought her out to do cross training, and improve my seat. She not only helped me tremendously maintaining my goals there, but she has also provided me with scores of valuable information that have improved my overall experience as a horse person myself. Britt is an incredible asset to the Wester Washington horse community, everyone can learn a lot from her.
I've known and had Danielle as a trainer off and on for 19 years and Quinton for at least half that. I think of them as family, and I'm pretty picky. The bonus is that they are both excellent trainers who really care about the good of the horse. They can take a horse to the top, but they won't sacrifice the horse's health, the rider's welfare or their ethics in the process. They have done a fabulous job training my Apaladin bred horses, as well as others, being sensitive to their individual needs. We've had a lot of fun over the years and enjoyed success in the show ring to boot. Their current location is amazing- the best feeling program I've ever seen, great pastures and turn out, several arenas and a beautiful location. It's like a mini vacation every time we go out there.
Rita worked with my daughter for basic lessons. She can be a firm task master, but she gets results and enjoys seeing her students succeed. I don't know the names of any particular style/type of training referenced here, all I can say is my daughter now has one of the BEST seats i've ever seen a rider at her level of experience. She doesn't show, doesn't have her own horse, so this was for her to have horse time and learn. Rita made her so solid in her seat that when she rides now, she has no concerns; she is very confident. That was what I wanted for her. We didn't stay nearly as long with Rita as I would've liked but I highly recommend her for anyone who wants to learn how to ride, and she will take you further if you want to compete. But be prepared to work! It's a good thing.
9/21/2013 Our daughter has been at Brackenhollow Stables for close to 7 years now. We travel 35 minutes for her weekly or twice weekly lesson and our daughter has grown in her riding and love of horses all along the way. We love Brackenhollow -- Joanna has always challenged our daughter but always in a safe way. The horses are treated with respect and never handled roughly which is not easy to find. Thanks to Joanna and Duschka for the years of outings (thanks Duschka), Pony Club lessons (thanks again Duschka) and many years of attention in lessons and our growth in horse knowledge (thanks to both Joanna and Duschka)!!! My husband and I are the proud parents of 3 children ages 6-12. We have been going for two years. We love The Whole Horse Place! The children adore Mrs. Tina and all of the horses. Each of our children have learned everything they need to know, to care for horses by taking the year long course on Equine Science and Horsemanship. One of the coolest lessons included dissecting a real cows eye! My oldest son (12) had some difficulties relaxing; which is why we started taking him for lessons. After just a couple of lessons we noticed a huge difference in his disposition, and confidence! Our family highly recommends " The Whole Horse Place". Give Mrs. Tina and her horses a try, you'll be glad you did!
Kristi is a superb equestrian coach and trainer. Before being taught by Kristi I had been riding for several years and had been on a plateau for too long. I am an older adult and had been riding in lessons 2-3 times a week. The progress I made with Kristi was incredible (and immediate) even riding the same horse. Kristi sees the details and can tell/show her student how to fix the problems. In private or group settings, Kristi always brings a high level of energy to each lesson. Kristi is thoughtful, creative and focused on keeping it safe - for the horse and rider. In a group lesson environment, Kristi manages to make the lesson very effective and manageable even with students at different levels. My young adult daughter is also coached by Kristi. Her confidence as well as mine has improved significantly. I highly recommend Kristi Gates whether you want to excel in the competitive show ring or for pure pleasure.
I have had the pleasure of working with Nichole over the last 15 years. Her style of teaching is unique and amazing. Nichole has an ability to explain how to correctly use your body (posture, alignment, use of muscles, bones etc) to ride each stride, movement and gait of your horse in harmony. Her lessons are the perfect combination of fun, hard work and understanding the theory behind what you are working on. Nichole has a phenominal understanding of classical dressage theory and shares this knowlege freely with her clients through many modalities. Her understainding of how people and horses learn and the biomechanics of dressage is unmatched.
I have been taking dressage lessons with Carol for 10 years and it has been an amazing journey. I have learned so much and have ridden a variety of different horses. Carol is very flexible and does what she can to work with my schedule. I have learned lots from her and the horses i take lessons on.
I've been riding here for close to 6 years steadily and there was about a year before that where I came and did trail rides and the odd lesson. For most of those years I've ridden with Markelle and she is incredible. She has all the patience and good will to work with new, inexperienced riders and take them to becoming capable riders with a good foundation in all parts of riding and understanding the horse. I started out a western rider who was truly terrible at english but she's made me into a confident eventer who is now riding and partly training horses for her and an owner at the barn. Saddle Rock is a great place for any rider of any skill level. Jordan, Markelle's older sister, is more experienced and competes regularly in Olympic level competitions so she knows how to train champions and she's really good at pushing the rider. She's not as good with new riders because she's very go go go and doesn't work with new riders anymore. They either go to Nicolette who is amazing for young riders or to Markelle and they stay with her because Markelle is the type of trainer you grow up with in riding. Markelle is more laid back but don't mistake that for lack of skill in teaching, she just knows when to push and when it's enough. I learn more from her every lesson and am totally grateful for my years at Saddle Rock Stables with Markelle and Jordan. The facility is also super nice and we have both an indoor arena where we do more of the dressage and a large outdoor arena with lots of varied types of jumps for practicing showjumping. For cross country we go to other facilities that have a cross country course as we do not have one. The barn is also located in a large horsey neighborhood so we can go on trailrides in the summer and they are the best. Saddle Rock is truly a special place and I would rather ride here than almost anywhere else.
Super friendly, very clean set up & beautiful horses.
My 6 year old daughter is taking her first horse back riding lessons from The Red Horse Farm. Ihave to say it is truly an amazing place. She has learn so much in only 3 lessons and to be able to watch her smile and enjoy every moment is a wonderful experience. Everyone at The Red Horse Farm is friendly, and it feels more like you are part of the family. Susan is teaching my daughter and I could not have asked for a better teacher. She is funny and has taughter her every single thing that a new rider needs to know and beyond. This is such an amzing place! Thank you to everyone at The Red Horse Farm for everything you do!
Jim was kind and courteous. It's great that they have a covered arena. The instructor was fine, but I decided not to continue with lessons due to health issues.
I have over 15 years of starting, finishing horses, and lessons experience. I use a natural way that fills in any hole that may have been missed. I have experience with quarter horses, paints, Percheron, Arabs, draft breeds, and many others. I ride English and Western, and can train for just about any discipline.
