FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Life without learning isn't for me. I study, practice and read constantly to stay on top of the latest trends in health care, particularly nutrition and it's repercussions. Constantly studying anxiety and depression.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father was an example of living a simple life; no processed foods, rest when tired and enjoy the goods times to their fullest. Add to that, a mother with mental disorders that led to my being medicated by the time I hit the age of 13. I got off the meds as soon as I could, but the damage of a mentally ill mother takes a toll. So I had a natural leaning towards self care. The arrival of my first daughter, who we quickly learned was hyperactive, led towards another level of self care and self awareness. At the age of 4 the allopathic medical community was suggesting medication. It is certainly an option, but I decided to walk the path least popular. Her body doesn't metabolize sugar well and she was allergic to chemical additives to food. By paying attention to her diet and making lifestyle choices that reinforce calm, peaceful and self-assertive life, she became an honors student and an outstanding young woman. My life changed. It wasn't easy. But it was gratifying. Long story short...I began to help others and take what I had learned by living out to others. My biggest thrill is seeing people grasp the power of listening to their own body, mind, spirit and emotions and then being brave enough to step up. We all need support along the way, and that is what I offer.
