Introduction: All tutors are there to help their students. Many tutors are working with a "more is better" philosophy. I tend to work with a "smarter is better" mindset. Instead of doing 50 problems, I might have the student do 10, but only after playing with these ideas until everything is completely understood. I also care more about the emotional connection the student has with the subject than their grades. Many of my clients "hate math" and believe they cannot succeed, and I work hard to reverse these damaging ideas. The confidence and joy that comes after students decide they love math almost always translates into higher grades anyway. I love being around the joy that people exude when they are learning something new, or when they do something they were sure they could NEVER do. I love being around young teens and helping them on their path to their dreams. I love being around passionate, intense kids who want to share their love of math and science with me.

Iman is a great ! She has worked with my 2 children since April 2013 and they are now in the 9th grade. Iman is an effective communicator and teaches understandable methods for all grade levels. She is personable and truly cares about the kids she works with and wants them to succeed.

We hired Iman to help our daughter with her college-level Chemistry. Iman is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Iman first helped our daughter when she was home from college over her spring break. We had an immediate need at the time and Iman reworked her schedule to accommodate our daughter, which we truly appreciated. We/our daughter have been so pleased with Iman, that we have continued to utilize her services virtually. Iman meets with our daughter on-line a couple times a week, which has worked out very well. Iman has been wonderful to work with and our daughter truly enjoys working with her.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer discounts for multiple meetings per week, or for clients with multiple students in the household. I also offer discounts to families who are pursuing alternative education paths such as homeschooling or running start.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My undergraduate work was in Chemistry and Psychology. I have a master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been tutoring or teaching since I was a teenager. Along the way I have taught Chemistry at all levels, including running a Chemistry Tutoring Lab at a university. I've also tutored and taught classes in Math, Physics, Biology, Earth Science, Engineering (Materials), Game Design, ESL, English Grammar and test prep of all kinds.
