Metro Dog has been caring for our furry companions for over 20 years in Seattle. We believe that pets are very much part of the family and should be treated with the same love and care that children are. We are fully licensed, bonded and insured and all of our staff are certified in a comprehensive pet first aid program. We utilize low-stress handling techniques and strive to provide the most fun and safe experience possible for your pet.
We think this is an amazing time to work in the pet care industry. Dogs and cats are becoming recognized for the amazing effect they have on our physical and emotional well-being. In turn we have seen tremendous progress in nutrition, handling techniques, pet medical care and legal protections. We are privileged to be able to care for these wonderful creatures that give us so much.

I love the people, and care they give to my dog, at Metro Dog. We've been going to Metro Dog about a year now. Since we travel a good bit we always feel so comfortable knowing that Metro Dog is watching out for our fur baby.Recently when we were gone over Thanksgiving and our dog scratched his eye playing around. He's still a young dog. Metro Dog was there to save the day. On a holiday night they took him to our vet and since our vet could not keep him overnight for observation, Metro Dog took him to the 24 hr emergency vet. They kept me right up to date on his diagnosis and recommended treatment. His eye was ok but it could have gotten much worse if he had not been diagnosed and treated right away. Some pills and ointment fixed him right up. I was so relieved and thankful Metro Dog, spent a good part of Thanksgiving eve and morning making sure my little one was well cared for.Like you I love my fur kids and I will never worry about the time I spend away from them knowing that the awesome care giverd at Metro are taking care of my dog. Whole heartedly recommend them.

Thank you Carrie, we really appreciate your review. We believe that when you are in charge of a living creature that you should be as responsible as if it were a human child. Indeed, we borrowed a number of rules from our kids' daycares including that there should always be someone on staff trained in pet first aid. It's how we got into the business of teaching it. And at times like these it helps us to make sure we know what needs to be done and when. We are glad to have been of help and that everything turned out just fine.

Great people and daycare. They helped us adjust our puppy to daycare slowly and gave her lots of breaks throughout the day. Our pup loves daycare and the folks here. Thank you guys!!!

Our dog is a frequent guest of Metro Dog. They treat her like family and better yet, all of the workers here understand dog behavior, handle any issues quickly and without yelling or, god forbid, hitting. They all carry spray water bottles and a simple squirt and redirect calms everyone down. I love it. Also, they genuinely love dogs and our dog wags her tails and seems happy to see all of them.

Our boy has been going to MetroDog for a year and a half. He is so excited when we turn onto 16th Ave and he knows where we are headed! He is always so eager to get inside to see his buddies. What makes it even easier for us to leave him there is how warmly he is greeted by the staff. Theyre obviously real dog lovers. Every time he shows up, he gets welcomed in with rubs and scratches in his favorite spots. He has a few favorites on staff and he licks their faces like theyre long-lost family every time he sees them. The team there has been understanding of him as a picky eater, and theyve devised some tricks to get him to eat his lunch (some days). We are happy to have a safe and fun place our dog can spend his days when we arent able to be home with him. Thanks, MetroDog!

So I have not been to Metro Dog exactly but I did sit in on the Metro Dog staff's "Walks & Wags Pet First Aid" class and it was excellent. It was held out at Fleet Reserve Association Branch 310 in Silverdale, WA, was a ten hour course and really was completely worth it.It's a lot of information but I really thought that everyone did a really good job of keeping us attention deficit folks on track. I would definitely recommend to all who can make the trip!
