- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly learning, taking classes online, taking more photographs, writing, looking at what other writers and photographers do and getting inspired from their work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been writing and taking pictures since an early age. Perhaps it started because I was new to the country (came to the US at age 6) and was uncomfortable speaking out in school, since my English language skills weren't very good at first. I liked the time and solitude of writing and getting to express what was in my heart. I liked playing around with cameras and capturing the beauty that was around me. Over the years, my confidence grew. I not only loved the English language, I ended up majoring in English Literature in college, and then later became a journalist. Photography was at first a way for me to enhance my stories, but later it grew to something much more.
