FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start by scheduling a call or in-person meeting to understand your needs and vision for what a finished set of photos looks like, then work backwards from there. This call is one of my favorite parts of working with models, as I love meeting new people! For example, my best portraits and environmental shoots came after spending thirty minutes to an hour getting to know each other over our favorite drinks. This not only helps with being comfortable on the day of the shoot, but also in blending personal details into a setting, wardrobe, or in the equipment choices.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
The last four generations of Bartholomews were all photographers, so I was introduced to the craft at an early age. Once I started using film in high school, I was hooked.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Pinterest, Instagram, or photos save from elsewhere that you are drawing inspiration from are extremely helpful for me to understand and see what kind of feel you’re going for. This isn’t necessary though. Simply talking about your vision in our initial call is usually enough to get a creative plan started.
