I have been taking lessons from Charla for several months. She is a talented instructor. She has a knack for knowing exactly what I need to learn a wide variety of dances and sometimes complicated steps and choreography. She's friendly, professional and I feel really good about my progress. Her classes are fun I have really enjoyed working with her. I have also taken a few of her group class and that has been really helpful, expecially learning to lead partners at various levels of experience. My confidence and ability are greatly improved thanks to Charla are her caring ways!
Hiring DJ's is always hit or miss. They either save the day or seriously hinder the vibe. When I saw Sean in action, I knew which one it was. I threw an event expecting 500 people, so it was a serious blow to see that halfway through the night, only about 200 had actually showed. Keep in mind, the venue is HUGE. So I was seriously concerned that people would start feeling like the event was more of a community charity event than the awesome jampacked hip hop showcase it was supposed to be. Luckily, Sean literally saved the day. He hopped on the mic, brought everyone to the front of the stage, and turned a casual stand around and chat vibe into an all out rave with people I'd never expect to see let loose like that. The Shaman is very passionate about music, people, and his position. This man saved my image, and he know's who I am, and I hope I have the chance to repay him one day!
Gayle is the best! I took her bolly hop class at Culture Shakti and she is fun, welcoming, and encouraging to all dancers. She is an amazing dancer and a great teacher. I highly recommend her to everyone!
Misha is one of the finest dance instructors and dancers I know. His teaching style is clear and thoughtful. I've taken lessons from several high level instructors in the Seattle area and Misha is by far the best.
I hired Mellilah for our wedding reception. She was breathtaking! Our guests all loved her. She came out in a beautiful costume that matched our wedding colors which I had requested. I have seen belly dancers in the past and she is truly my favorite. I would highly recommend her! If it's for a wedding, ask her to do a fan dance! That was spectacular.
Katie was awesome! We threw a surprise 50th birthday for friend who had hip hop class on her bucket list. Katie choreographed beginning hip hop class which was fun, engaging & entertaining. Lots of giggles and great energy all around. She listened to what we wanted and executed very well.

Hip Hop Breakin/ Break Dancin - Are you ready for a fun challenge? Breakdance is based loosely from hip-hop dance and its music. Common breakdance movements the students learn are the 6-step, 4-step and toprock. The 6-step helps provide a base from which other moves are performed. Many skills are performed on the floor and include intricate movements, body contortion, acrobatics. After grasping the basics students progress to study more complex skills like freezes (holding a movement for a moment or two). Along with all the floor work, popping and locking are introduced. As you advance, we will learn power moves such as The Windmill, Headspins and Flares. There is much leeway to create your own style and skills once you pick up the basics of breakdance. Once you have mastered the basics I'll help the dancers the skills they need to be successful at create their own movement style. Bboy/Bgirl battles are a way for dancers to show their confidence in their freestyle. This class is taught in a safe and effective manner in which I'll break down skills and runs drills to help instill proper This class requires no previous skills.
