My husband and I are researchers at UW and we were delighted to find a beautiful house in Ravenna after a long search for a good rental. However, this rental by 65th and 19th Ave NE, Seattle turned out to be the most regretful tenancy for us of all times. The landlords who live right next door, are extremely intrusive and had little to no regard for our privacy or well being. Maple leaf having been hired by the landlords, probably did not have a choice, but to be supportive of the landlords. One of their agents failed to inform us about the landlords' residence being right next door and other important details about the house, until after we signed the lease. This would have been ok if we handn't found ourselves being constantly watched over by the landlords and unwelcome emails sent to us by them every so often. There were regular visits to the house (every two weeks on an average) and every attempt was made to control how we lived in the house. We felt extremely unwelcome and disrespected throughout our tenancy and were glad to move out at the end of our one year lease.Maple Leaf was co-operative when we asked for a change of the rental agent assigned to us. We were also pleased by the fairness of the check out process and when we mistakenly had guests stay with us for longer than permitted. This was a particularly terrible experience, probably due to the landlords of the house. However, as real estate agents in charge of the property, we expected Maple Leaf to be supportive and welcoming not just of the landlords, but also towards tenants occupying the property. There were several instances where Maple Leaf could have stepped in and made this a more pleasant stay for us.

I was referred to Kit and her team by a trusted realtor and friend that regularly used Maple Leaf Management to manage his and his client's properties. For the year prior, I had dealt with an ineffective property management company (Phillips Real Estate) that was lazy, dishonest, and simply unresponsive with me and my tenants. I was living out of state at the time, so I was desperately seeking a replacement to address the needs of my tenants (they had started to reach out directly to me when they did not hear back from the property manager), and for my own peace of mind. After our initial phone conversation, Kit promptly handled the uncomfortable transition from the previous property manager and professionally communicated the change to my tenants. She also argued on my behalf to fix accounting errors carried out by the previous property manager (something I had been unsuccessful in fixing on my own), and eventually reclaimed $3000 that had gone missing for over a year!Overall, Maple Leaf Management has provided outstanding communication, responsiveness, attention to detail, and has been a true pleasure to work with. I feel very fortunate to have been introduced to Kit, and I am glad that Maple Leaf is looking after my property.

I found Maple Leaf Management with an on-line search when I realized the management company I was using was doing a TERRIBLE job. Kit and Lee inspected the property, (a condo) realized the current tenants were pretty destructive, and denied them the opportunity to renew their lease. When the tenants moved out, Lee had to have the whole condo refurbished. I was out of the country and she had everything done, new tenants secured within 6 weeks, and did it all within a reasonable cost. She's awesome!!!! She remains extremely attentive, takes care of maintenance issues very quickly, and keeps me informed of everything I need to know about the condo. I'll recommend this company and Lee anytime as top-notch property managers.
