FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Every now and then, someone will come in with something they've found online or in a source book. I have no problem at all with doing this [especially if they let me add a little originality. Who wants the exact tattoo that someone else has, right?] but there really isn't anything more personally satisfying than transferring my own artwork onto someone's body and knowing they appreciate it. That's why I don't charge a design fee!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Sarah [whom I'm teaching to tattoo. She also does the piercings.] has nice looking skin. I mean, it doesn't LOOK as thick, tough and dry as it is. Sorry, Sarah. On top of that, she's a perfectionist that nit-picks me through the entire procedure so you can imagine how stressful working on her can be. . . but it's always worth it. Because she insists on such clean, detailed, difficult pieces, she's always pushing and challenging me to be better. She actually has some of my favorite tattoos now. Most recently, the "Hang In There" kitten from the school nurse's poster. Check out the picture!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
There really is nothing more important than making sure your artist is clean. It also helps to be able to stand the guy. Who wants to sit and pay to be hurt by someone you'd like to punch in the face?
