This has been a great experience for me. I have been through a few personal trainers in the past, but I've never stuck with it until now. This is the first time I've really felt listened to, and like what I want for myself really factors into the programming of the workouts. Each workout really is unique and tailored to the needs of the individual in that moment. I have been very happy with both the results and the process for the first time in my experience with personal training!Jan 3, 2021

I've been working with Alyssa for 3 weeks now via Zoom/WhatsApp (I do three 1:1 sessions a week). I've never worked with a personal trainer before and I'm so glad to be working with Alyssa. She's always prompt and she really pays attention to my specific issues (eg I had a broken arm that was never set) to ensure the program is appropriate for my situation. She's also a great motivator and very pleasant to work with.Aug 31, 2020

I've been to a lot a personal trainers but this is the FIRST time my personal training is ACTUALLY Personal! My program with Alyssa is 100% made for only me, to address muscle imbalances and weakness, loosen up the over-active muscles and engage the under-active ones, and build a program that will integrate my muscles to work together the way they are designed to. It's been four weeks and things are changing rapidly. I feel my strength increasing and my pain subsiding. This is a very exciting one-of-a-kind program and Alyssa is a one-of-a-kind fitness trainer.Aug 28, 2020Alyssa Martin Personal Training's reply
Thank you for the kind review Hilary! It has been a pleasure to work with you and see your movement quality and strength improve. I'm so glad that you're experiencing less pain and seeing the value in prioritizing the foundations of fitness. Can't wait to see how you progress in the upcoming months!

I decided to drop my gym membership during the covid mess. My idea was to simply exercise at home but my motivation and staying power was minimal. I also had no idea how to achieve the desired results I was hoping for. Alyssa has gotten me on track with a detailed program and continual assistance in making sure that I am doing the exercises correctly through video chats. Her understanding of the body and how to tone certain areas provides targeted focus. In just one month I see results!! Actually I saw some results in 2 weeks but now I am extra happy! Routines and reps are easily adjusted and customized to perfectly fit my needs. When the weather cooperates she even added pool exercises! Between Alyssa and my new FitBit I am motivated to stay active and in shape with no more excuses.Aug 28, 2020

She listened to my goals and worked with me on building up my strength in targeted areas that I needed to work on. She is also very friendly and makes the work outs fun!Aug 27, 2020Alyssa Martin Personal Training's reply
Thank you Lauren! It was so exciting to watch you get stronger and perform harder and longer workouts each week! I'm so glad you found them enjoyable because working out should be fun!
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I offer 4 week workout programs (weekly installments) and live video sessions. 4 week programs are $120. You can pay an additional fee of $40 per live video session. Please review my website for a full explanation of pricing. Note: Every new client is required to have a one-time-only $50 1 hour initial assessment.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I always start with a 1 hour $50 initial assessment where I discuss your relevant medical and fitness history as well as your individual goals. I will perform a postural and mobility assessment which provides me with critical information for how to program your workouts to be specific to you and reduce the likelihood of injury and try to minimize any chronic pain.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a BS in Biology from the University of California, Davis. I am also a NASM certified personal trainer. I picked this program because it emphasizes the importance of corrective exercise and injury prevention which I think it the most important part of any routine. I also have various other certifications which are listed in my bio.
