FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After graduating from college, when most people are taking their first entry-level jobs, I spent six months in the back woods of Kentucky learning to build harps from a Master Luthier. At the same time I began selling paintings to earn my way to South Sudan. I painted on reclaimed wood and would often find myself sitting in the grass outside abandoned warehouses, working to capture the sunlight just right. On my return to Washington State, I converted the second floor of the drafty Victorian home I rented into an oil-painting and wood-carving studio. It had always been a dream of mine to paint. To me it is about bringing the collective nostalgia back to life, as artists have done time and time again.
