About
Hi, I’m Nick Dirk, a passionate visual storyteller with over a decade of professional experience in wedding photography, films, and commercial video production. From capturing the intimate moments of a couple’s big day to helping brands craft compelling narratives that resonate with their audience, my focus is always on creating meaningful, high-quality visuals that exceed expectations.
As the Creative Director at Heirloom Creatives, I’ve had the privilege of leading a wide range of projects—from crafting cinematic wedding films that bring love stories to life to producing impactful commercial campaigns for businesses. I thrive on collaboration, working closely with my clients to ensure every detail is thoughtfully planned and executed, whether it’s capturing the perfect shot or delivering polished, professional edits.
My approach is grounded in honesty, empathy, and a deep appreciation for storytelling. I believe every project is an opportunity to connect, inspire, and create something unforgettable. When I’m not behind the camera or at the editing desk, I love spending time with my fiancée and our two dogs, exploring the great outdoors, or dreaming about my next travel adventure—hopefully one step closer to setting foot on every continent!
Let’s connect and bring your vision to life, whether it’s capturing your dream wedding or starting a standout commercial project. I can’t wait to work together and make something extraordinary!

Working with Nick was an absolute delight from booking to final delivery. He took special care to choose the ideal time for our shoot location so that the sun was at its most flattering angle, and from the moment he arrived he had a very positive, upbeat and friendly demeanor that made it much easier to relax and have fun during the session, despite my earlier nerves.
Historically, I have felt that getting photos done was a bit of a chore, but with Nick, it felt like I was just having fun with a friend. That casual fun energy I felt during the photoshoot came through in the final photos I received, and I could not be happier with them. Nick did an amazing job capturing my best side, and it is wonderful to have photos of myself that show me in the way that I want to seen.
Overall, Nick was extremely professional, personable, thoughtful, and clearly very skilled. I am glad to have hired him as my photographer, and I will certainly do so again for my photo needs in the future!

Nick has a great eye and his work is always top notch. He does a great job of listening to clients and that gives him the ability to give his clients a finished product something they feel connected to.

Nick does great work and is easy to work with. I have used Nick many times both for a company that I run and a company that I own.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to price things per project. I want to be sure I can give my clients the best of my abilities within their budget. I don't want to charge you an arm and a leg for something you won't end up using because maybe a package I had fit your budget. Lets have a real conversation about your needs and what you want out of this experience and go from there. I will most likely ask "How much are you looking to spend?" Or "What's your budget?" This is me trying to give you the best I can within your budget not squeeze every penny I can out of you. I want you to get the most out of your dollar you can and I want to make something of quality to be proud of.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I try to have coffee with you first thing to break the ice a bit or a phone call if my point of contact is remote. I then will try to figure out your overall goals and how making a video will help you achieve that goal. If you don't know, that's no problem! I am here to help with that too. Regardless we will figure out what success means for the video(s) and identity specific and measurable "Success Metrics." I do this because it not only helps me know what to focus on, but also gives you the tools you need to know I am doing the job in the way you need it done, so if something starts going off the rails we can easily reevaluate, find the issue, and make a new plan.
After that, We move into idea development and nail down what exactly we are going to capture. From there I will draw up the proper pre-production and we then set shoot dates. Then its all pretty basic stuff. I start the edit, show you drafts of the piece(s), I get feedback from you, and make changes. We will have a few back and forths in the revisions process and finally you have your video(s)!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to a trade school during my high school years for cinematography for two years and once I graduated I started working on my own client projects while also being apart of bigger teams putting together high budget commercial pieces and documentary films. Most if not all my training comes from doing the work and understanding when and how I made a mistake, and learning from it. Self-awareness especially in such a diverse and creative field can go along way.
