FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
For as long as I can remember, I have been seeing life happen in frames. I could be just walking down the street and see a child trying stealing the attention from their newborn brother or the silhouette of a tree at sunset, and taking a photo in my head. Telling stories with photographs is such a joy for me. Being a dancer and dance instructor later on, I have had many photos taken. It seemed like every photographer we hired, had no idea how a dancer was supposed to look. No sense of technique or poise. It was a put your arm here and smile photo-and I hated it. When I got a little older, I started helping the photographers pose the students based on the style of dance, costumes, and personality of the dance. It was such an amazing feeling. But it was probably when I received my senior portrait proofs that I realized this was the job for me. Knowing I would enjoy the "work" of pulling out people's personality and making them look fabulous, it seemed obvious what I should be doing.
