We do the following:
- Roll out, measure, mark, and also cut carpeting to size with a carpet knife, following floor sketches and allowing extra carpet for final fitting
- Plan the layout of the carpet, allowing for expected traffic patterns as well as placing seams for best appearance longest wear
- Stretch carpet to align with walls, ensuring a smooth surface, and also press carpet in place over tack strips or use staples, tape, tacks or glue to hold carpet in place

- Install carpet on some floors using adhesive, following prescribed method
- Nail tack strips around the area to be carpeted or use old strips to attach edges of new carpet
- Fasten metal treads across door openings or where carpet meets flooring to hold carpet in place
- Measure, cut, and install tackless strips along the baseboard or wall
- Draw building diagrams record dimensions
- Move furniture from area to be carpeted as well as remove old carpet padding
- Clean up before as well as after installation, including vacuuming carpet and discarding remnant pieces.

I have 39 years of working experience as a carpet installer. I am CFI certified and certified in residential and commercial projects. I use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. I talk to others to convey information effectively.
