- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Unlike most bookkeepers, I do not charge by the hour. After I discuss the client's needs with them, I figure out a set price. If this is an ongoing engagement, I meet with the client a couple time a year to review the monthly price to make sure their needs as well as mine are being met.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish clients knew how much cheaper it is for them to hire a bookkeeper when they establish the business to get everything set up correctly in the first place, rather than trying to do it themselves and later hiring one to clean up all the mistakes.
