FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First, my pricing includes a warranty for craftsmanship. Second, I am a licensed contractor and insured. Most of the projects I do involve extensive demolition and remodeling. Once I have had the opportunity to visit the project site I provide you with a fixed quote so you know what the project is going to cost you. This price does not change unless additional work is requested. I accept cash, check, or credit card for payment. When I have been afforded the opportunity to see competitor bids, my pricing is typically average on a high to low scale!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially, I like to get an idea of what the customers project entails through a phone conversation and when practical, photos of the project site. This initial first step is a great time saver for both the customer and myself! I can often provide a rough estimate (when photos of the project site are provided) as well as lay out my availability to even take on the project. Next, we arrange an on site visit. It's important to have a personal meeting for larger projects such as a bathroom remodel. Out of this visit I will develop a clear understanding of the clients expectations for the project and provide them with a written fixed quote. After the on site visit the client has enough information to make their hiring decision. No money down (under most circumstances) is required to hire me and there is usually a wait period as I am typically booked 6 months to a year out. The day the project is scheduled to start I show up with a contract detailing the work to be performed and at that point the first payment is due.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every two years I take refresher courses on various aspects of construction as part of the renewal process for my contractors license.
