What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A good transcriptionist is always learning. If I cover a subject matter that I believe will have more demand in the future, I educate myself further on that topic.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked in a traditional office setting for many years. I happened to do some side work for another independent contractor and found that I enjoyed the work. I also was caring for a disabled individual, and the ability to set my own hours was very appealing. I decided in 2010 to become an independent contractor 100%.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common types of jobs are one-on-one interviews and focus groups.
