I am a functionally professional musician as of the last 20+ years, thanks to the outstanding tutelage of Ken Fought. His personally streamlined approach to each individual student sets the standard for hand-over-hand guitar instruction. Compared to any academic teacher, and most guitar teachers, he was the only one who got through to me on a personally inspiring level, and gave me the drive I needed towards something(anything) in life. Ken instills the confidence in the kids like me that had no outlet:sports, academics, etc., that need it most. Thanks to Ken, I went from playing confidently as a teen, to playing professionally as a young(and now old) adult. Get this guy to teach/inspire your kids/adults like he inspired me, and you can't go wrong! -Adam Zierten: singer-songwriter/guitarist/harmonica-Mojo Radio
Tom's been a great guitar teacher for me. I took lessons from him starting in 6th grade and going all the way up til my senior year of high school, and he never ran out of new concepts to teach me. Not only is he an excellent guitar player in most any style, but he's knowledgable in songwriting and theory, which as a result has, appropriately, made me not only a better guitarist, but overall musician. Take from Tom; he's the man!
I would not be the singer and artist I am today without the instruction and guidance I received from William Powers. His years of professional operatic experience and enthusiastic teaching style have given me both the tools and technique I need to compete in the extremely demanding field of opera, as well as the confidence to believe in my talents. His support and mentorship continue to shape me as an artist, and any student of voice would be fortunate to have William Powers as a teacher. I recommend him whole-heartedly and without hesitation!
We have hired Guy as our sound man for many years at Congregation Shir Hadash. As a fellow musician, I can appreciate his commitment to quality and his remarkable attention to detail. He is reliable. He brings a high level of experience and expertise to his work. I would highly recommend him without question.
Carolyn kolterman is an awesome teacher! I'm an adult (33) and have had some experience in in many different instruments and reading music and she adjusts adequately to my ability. She is super nice, super patient and awesome to talk with. I could see anyone benefiting from her classes, young and old. She has a bachelors and a masters in music and at the price she's offering she's a steal! Super glad I found her and love picking her brain for musical knowledge. I'm shy and super anxious playing music in front of people but she makes me feel comfortable and confident. I have a lot of fun and am more excited to play and become a better musician!
Eric was outstanding!! We booked him two days before the party. He took the time to review our requests and desired music. The one song requested for my husband he knocked out of the park! Eric welcomed requests and really made the audience feel a part of the music and the party. All of our guests contacted us after the party to say what a wonderful time they had and how much enjoyed Eric. Would highly recommend!
They were amazing. Flexible for our party and genuinely nice people. Everyone was so impressed! I can't wait to have another party and hire them again!! Gerald really understood what I was looking for. He arranged the perfect musicians and music. He made sure everything was great from the beginning to the end! THANK YOU!!!
He was very professional and a great musician. Would be great for dinner music/background music. Not as good for assisted living entertainment as this population did not "understand" his music.
I really have been enjoying working with Sara. She always is sure to warm up my voice, before moving on to working on our songs. I feel like i have improved a lot, and i have a larger vocal range now, because of her. She helped me receive a 1 out of a 1+ being the best on my solo for the "solo and ensemble" contest, and helped me receive a perfect score of a 1+ on my duet. I don't know how much my voice has grown but all i know is I reaaly want to see my voice grow a lot stronger, and I think Sara might be the person to help me out with this, I really like how we warm up for a while, and a lot of times she lets me pick out a selection of a song piece to sing. I think something I would like is if we worked on practicing sight reading, in case we ever go to an event and just have to sight read. I really do enjoy working with her.
Not only is Tyler an amazing musician, he is an amazing person! He puts his heart and soul into everything he does and it definitely shows in his performances. I love watching him perform and can't help but sing along every time!!
My family has hired Sipos & Young for a wedding reception and a celebration of life gathering. Rachel and Chris are fantastic musicians and their song catalogue is deep. They also asked on both occasions if there were any particular songs the family wanted to hear. They set the tone perfectly for each event as diverse as they were and really added something special.
My husband bought me a gift certificate for piano lessons with Candid Brilliance and I've loved the experience! My piano teacher, Jocelyn, is flexible with my schedule and comes to my home for lessons. She is insightful and patient, as I'm learning piano as an adult :) I will definitely continue to take piano lessons through Candid Brilliance Music!
As an adult learner, I appreciated Derrick's flexibility and trying to teach me both technique and theory. He is enthusiastic, an amazing musician, and best of all a patient and caring teacher. Having more background on theory and support in improving technique means that I am finally building the foundation to play piano.
I wanted live music during the ceremony. Amanda was nothing but professional and very knowledgable throughout the whole process, she really guided us through the whole music timeline/playlist and helped to provide advice to help make everything perfect. Their website also provides little sound bites. They offer a vast array of different musicians, and we ended up going with a duo- violinist and cellist. We had a little snafu as the violinist was a bit late (due to Cubs world series traffic, which no one could have predicted how bad it would be- and ended up making some of the guests late too). They ended up playing for extra time to make up for the delay. They both sounded wonderful, and were a perfect addition to the ceremony/cocktail hour. I would definitely recommend Dream City and will use them again when the opportunity arises.
We couldn't have been happier with our decision to hire Paul and his trio for our wedding. My husband is a musician and I have worked with live music as a dancer many times, so we know quality when we encounter it. Planning our wedding from our of state was a challenge, and Paul was responsive and professional via email. He sent us music samples and was eager to learn specific songs for our ceremony. The day of our wedding the trio was early, well dressed, and ready to go without a hitch. They played for our outdoor ceremony and quickly reset on the patio for cocktail hour. I would recommend Paul to anyone looking for high quality, affordable musicians to enhance your event!
A crooner / singer and she was great! It was for an in-home 50th wedding anniversary celebration for my bosses in-laws who are 87 and 90 and they loved it, so thank you!
Ethan is an extremely talented songwriter, musician, and performer. The reaction of our party guests was unanimously "he can really sing." His vast repertoire includes amazing originals, unique covers, and classic favorites. His personality exudes warmth, intelligence, wit and humor. Book this performer--everyone will love Ethan Keller!
