FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most often I find myself doing a series of repairs and improvements for customers. Things have been on a list for a long time. Whether it's a series of small repairs to drywall, trim, doors, etc the list has finally grown long enough or the problems frustrating enough that a client realizes they don't have the time to take of all it themselves and the repairs just need to get done. In that process they typically identify a couple of small improvements that have also been on that list and we discover that all of the important items on the list can be completed within their budget.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have a client who lives in a beautiful 1935 Craftsman style home and we have been working our way through a series of repairs and upgrades. Most recently I refinished the trim and window sashes in the bathroom window. It was most likely the original stain and finish. It was labor intensive but when finished it was even better than either of us expected. Restored to it's prime from 1935 but with 2 coats of polyurethane it can handle the abuse of being next to the only shower for another 50 years or more.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I do believe you get what you pay for. Experience matters in a service provider and quality materials are not inexpensive. But good work with proper materials only has be bought once. I often find I am called to come in after someone else has done a poor job and the project needs to be fixed and/ or finished.
