Introduction: Solo finger style acoustic guitarist, playing original instrumental music that span the musical genre’s of rag time, stride piano and jazz, with flavor’s from Latin and gypsy to country/folk, in format’s from ballad’s to medley's.
These works can be performed as a purely 'solo guitar' instrumental performance. This can work well for art gallery's and dinner shows that may be better enhanced thru a softer, more subtle type of lovely background music.
These works can also be performed accompanied by a High Definition rhythm system. This adds a larger overall energy level to the music. These rhythms that I've created are employed in real time thru the use of a foot pedal. Each work of music has a number of different rhythmic programs that are set into play, creating a real foot tapping experience during a live performance.
I play a beautiful Cole Clark acoustic guitar, imported from Australia, that employs an on board, dual pick up system, and the great tonal qualities of this guitar are amplified through a BOSE Compact PA sound system I use that has a small footprint, yet is rated for a 125 seat capacity venue.
I just love the way an acoustic guitar sounds. And even more, the way music works, in that it is in the beauty of how one chord of music moves to the next chord, and so on, in a song or tune. For me, it's always been about the melody of a song, rather than the words of a song.
On a guitar, one chord can be made from playing six notes, with one note on each string of the guitar, and the next chord can be six different notes. It is in the way that these notes change that allows the music to move along it's path in a tune or melody. There is just something in that, that warms us deep inside.
It's a familiar feeling we get from music, even in music we've never heard before. So there's also a mystery in music as there seems no explanation for that. Music just 'feels' natural.
I enjoy sharing these qualities of music, in real life settings, creating these movements of sound, in the presence of the moment.
