I started taking lessons from Travis in November '11 and continued on until I moved from the Madison area the following summer. He is very dedicated and passionate about his music and an amazing teacher who appreciates all styles. I came in with very little knowledge about guitar but with a strong musical background from playing piano, but I know that he has students who are quite young and guitar is their first instrument and older students too who are learning to play for the first time. I'll be hard pressed to find another teacher like Travis! Beyond his incredible talent, he was always available via phone or e-mail if I had any questions and encouraged me to get into new music! His rates are reasonable, and he's a true professional. I hear he even has started a local mic night for his students that I'm sorry to miss out on! I couldn't recommend a better teacher in the Madison area.

Travis is a wonderful instructor -- my son (Brett) takes guitar (electric) lessons from Travis and he loves it. He is 13 and looks forward to lessons to learn new and exciting things. He's been going to Sound Mindset for about 8 months and looks forward to every week and interacting with Travis. Sound Mindset is also flexible in working around our busy schedule(s) and willing to make-up lessons :0)

I've been taking guitar lessons from Travis on and off for the last 3 years. He has been teaching both my 14 year old son and myself together for about 6 months. His knowledge of and ability to explain music theory has helped us to achieve our mutual goal of creating our own songs. He also provides suggestions and feedback about techniques, that has enabled us to feel confident about the value of continuing with lessons. We have also learned ways to jam together, which makes practice more fun.

Travis is really a great guitar instructor. I have been taking lessons with him for almost one year now and can really tell my guitar playing skills have improved a lot. He always tries to make lessons fun as well as challenging, during the past months i have learned new chords, scales, strumming patterns and a few great songs. Travis is very patient and always willing to help me learn how to play the music i am interested in (trust me, if he doesn't know the song or the music style he'll do the research!!). I highly recommend Travis Ziegler for both beginners and advanced guitar players.
