FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The price for individual tutoring is $30/hr, payable at each session. Discount packages are available for those who choose to pay ahead. $300 will cover 10 hours plus one additional hour. If the cost of tutoring is an obstacle, I can recommend resources and strategies students can use on their own to minimize the time they need to spend with me. Unlike many other tutoring services, the initial evaluation is free and there is no commitment required at any time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always start with a free evaluation to get a sense of the student's situation, learning style, and challenges. This is also an opportunity for the student to get to know me and my philosophy of learning, before deciding whether to hire me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my bachelors degree at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Physics. Throughout my years of tutoring, I've studied teaching methods and learning styles, continually expanding my repertoire of creative ideas for helping students learn in the way that works best for them.
