Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: We are taking special precautions & actions to help stop the spread of COVID-19, and one of these is our offering of lessons online for local customers who would normally attend lessons in person. We have a number of students who have chosen this option, and they have been very happy with the online experience taking lessons at the Milwaukee Music Academy. When you send a request for info, we can begin our conversation about how to explore the possibilities of studying here, and you can share with us if you prefer the online lessons option as a temporary situation for your lessons until the COVID-19 pandemic is over.   I've been teaching for over 30 years; students of all levels & styles - I can help you reach your guitar-playing goals whether you're a total beginner or an advanced player looking to expand your musical knowledge!

Ive been with David for a year and have received higher quality lessons than the 3 previous teachers i had been with in year before. He teaches music theory and classical guitar at your own pace and keeps it interesting as well as motivating to work to become better. His personality makes lessons an encouraging and helpful enviroment to learn no matter where you are or how much experience you have in any genre of guitar. I highly reccomend him as a guitar teacher he has taken me and my playing to another planet in the span of a single year.

I have nothing but good things to say about my lessons with Dave. The man knows music from A to Z and everything in between. I watched YouTube videos for years and learned more in a month with Dave. He got me on a path and gave me useful material to practice rather than just noodling around. On top of being a great teacher the guys got a personality of gold. There’s never a dull moment with Dave. Highly recommend.

David is a true professional and has you covered from a-z with helping you learn any genre of music or any style of guitar. He makes it fun and knowing who he is, and what he has accomplished provides tremendous inspiration. He is a living legend. In our trial lesson he asked me to play something and quickly analyzed where I was at, developed a practice routine and set some goals. I can honestly say I have improved exponentially more in the short time I've been going to him than the entire time I've been playing guitar

David and Annette are amazing teachers and amazing people. I've taken lessons with David since Feb. 2019 and it is well worth the investment. David takes time to get to know you and your goals and will help you get there no matter where you're starting from. He's always encouraging and moving you forward in small steps to minimize frustration. And yet my playing has improved at much faster rate than I originally expected! I definitely wouldn't have gotten there with self-teaching alone. I am now able to open up many more doors to opportunities in the music industry, while discovering how much I love to just play. He and Annette are now good mentors and friends of mine. I'm so grateful to have them as part of my musical and life journey ❤

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Prices are based on 1-hour lessons. My price is $46.75 per hour for a student who is doing 1 lesson/week, which is very competitive! With more than 1 lesson per week, the price per lesson goes down substantially! The price per lesson goes DOWN, while the student's PROGRESS goes UP exponentially!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We start with a free intro/trial lesson to see if it is a good student-teacher match. Once we start working together, we see what it is he or she needs to learn and where to start. I asses what their goals are, and make sure that while we are working on their concrete goals, we are also learning the basics, which may seem like it doesn't have anything to do with their goals, but ultimately, it does. You need to lay down a solid foundation with those beginner students. Some students come to me with a lot of skills already. I am happy to say that I am able to pinpoint where they are with their learning, and provide lessons so they can continue learning at a higher level.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Graduate from Roosevelt University in Jazz and Classical Guitar, Music Theory, and real-world experience playing shred-metal guitar for over 40 years, and teaching guitar of various styles & genres for over 30 years!
