PLEASE READ:
I would love to teach you how to sing, play piano, or both! My studio currently has openings between 11:30a-4:30p Eastern Time on weekdays. I have been teaching in person from Milwaukee, WI since 2014, and online all over the world since 2020. I have learned that diagnosing and addressing problems, and helping you find your best voice and piano skills is possible even if we're not in person! I am a classically trained singer, and this helps me give you a solid foundation for any style of singing. I teach beginner piano, and beginning all the way up to professional singing. If you're interested in virtual lessons (or in person in Milwaukee, WI), send me a message to set up a no commitment trial lesson (only $28)!
Note:
I would kindly ask individuals to only click "request an estimate" or send a message who are serious and interested in setting up a (most likely virtual) lesson. I'm very glad to pay the fee this website charges professionals like me to hear from potential students if they have the above in mind, with the real possibility of becoming one of my students. THANK YOU for your consideration and understanding!

Ruth, Is the best teacher I have ever had the job of working in music. I have never known any instructor like Mrs. Brown! I have learned a lot from her, and she thoroughly explains concepts and all. I love her and I know you will as well!
Want a great teacher, contact her!
I give Mrs. Brown five out of five.

I have known Ruth for over 30 years, and it is a privilege and honor to call her not only my closest friend, but chosen family.
Ruth is a brilliant and skilled instructor, but skill alone is not what sets her apart from other instructors; her heart and passion for others does. Ruth cares deeply about her students development, not only from a competency (skill set) angle but as a human. Her compassion, wisdom, and insight from her own life journey naturally helps prepare creatives working with her to understand and build skills and resilience to handle the pressures that come with being a creative in what can often be labeled as a competitive, toxic, and demanding world.
The environments artists function in can crush a humans heart and soul if they are not educated and nurtured responsibly to be prepared to withstand the pressures and pitfalls they will inevitably face and have to overcome should they choose to use their gifts publicly. Ruth brings a unique skillset due to overcoming her own personal challenges in her story, and she compassionately guides and empowers her students to grown in both competency and character; priceless!

Ruth has been an amazing voice coach! I’ve learned more technic and skill since I’ve started with her and other people around me have noticed as well. She cares deeply about her students and helping us be the best versions of ourselves. I’m very thankful I found her on thumbtack!

Ruth is an amazing teacher—she's evidently extremely skilled, but also tailors her approach to different students meticulously and guided me kindly to improve!!
