Working with Sifu Elliott has been great! I had been looking into trying martial arts for some time and I'm glad I chose Jeet Kune Do/Filipino martial arts at All Three Fitness and Martial Arts. It is a smaller more personal environment with lots of hands on teaching in addition to being a great workout. We are always learning something new as well reinforcing previous techniques. His knowledge in martial arts and self-defense ranges from hand-to-hand combat, edged weapons, escrima sticks, and even ground tactics. What better way to learn than from someone who has put these techniques into practice? If you are serious about pursuing martial arts or self-defense I highly recommend learning from Sifu Elliott!
Pete teaches practical self-defense in a low-key, easy-to-grasp manner. Unlike many schools, he doesn't believe in a "one size fits all" curriculum or that students have to be super fit to defend themselves. Instead, he works with each student to develop moves that work for them, drawing from a variety of martial arts like kenpo karate, krav maga, filipino martial arts, and others. It's cool to see and even more fun to learn, so if you're looking for a skilled instructor, you owe it to yourself to give Pete a call!
Coach Slavica is great! I had never taken lessons or done any type of self defense instruction before. A friend of mine and student of hers referred me to her for lessons in Krav Maga. I was skeptical about whether it was for me, but seeing the passion with which she teaches and talks about Krav got me really fired up. She doesn't just teach me what to do, but she explains from a fundamental level why I'm doing it so I have a full understanding of what Im trying to accomplish with my techniques. She has also been flexible in scheduling which is a big plus because I have a crazy schedule. Highly recommend!
Patti is extremely knowledgeable about women’s self defense. Her class was thorough including oral, written, and hands on. When I had questions she answered them in a way I could understand. I felt the class was reasonably priced, although you can’t put a price on your personal safety. I would not hesitate to recommend her classes and would even take it again myself to keep up the skills I learned.
My daughter and I took a self defense class with Dylan at Players U. It was an awesome experience and I tell everyone about it. He was a great teacher and very professional. Patient and thorough, all Mom and girls should take this class. Boys being bullied should too! Just so they have an option to defend themselves. He teaches self confidence and Core strength thats beneficial to other sports and dance. We look forward to coming back this fall.
I have trained with William Stedman, and found him to be a very talented, and dedicated self defense instructor. We have jointly hosted self defense seminars and have witnessed his compassion to empowering people with real world self defense instruction. I would recommend his seminar's to anyone. In addition to self defense skills it will equip you with awareness, verbalization, and deescalation strategies. The training will educate you with a preparedness mindset in the event you encounter the unavoidable.
Jay is amazing, dedicated and an exceptional motivator! Highly recommend!
Filipino Martial Arts refers to ancient and newer fighting methods devised in the Philippines, the most popular of which are known as Arnis/Eskrima/Kali. The intrinsic need for self-preservation was the genesis of these systems. Throughout the ages, invaders and evolving local conflict imposed new dynamics for combat in the islands now making up the Philippines. The Filipino people developed battle skills as a direct result of an appreciation of their ever-changing circumstances. They learned often out of necessity how to prioritize, allocate and use common resources in combative situations. Filipinos have been heavily influenced by a phenomenon of cultural and linguistic mixture. Some of the specific mechanisms responsible for cultural and martial change extended from phenomena such as war, political and social systems, technology, trade and of course, simple practicality. Filipino martial arts have seen an increase in prominence due to several Hollywood movies and the teachings of modern masters such as Dan Inosanto, Cacoy Canete worlds famous Masters in Arnis fighting in Cebu City.
Fantastic experience for so many women looking to learn protection and self-defense skills. I truly cannot speak more highly of this company and the demo that we had. Amazing team, lighthearted, collaborative, and important to all women that attended. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience!
After just one session, Anthony made me feel so much more confident in my self-defense skills. The session was informative, but also quite fun, and I am looking forward to going back!
Training Krav Maga with Chris has been good for my whole family. While getting exercise, we are learning to defend and push ourselves. Great family bonding too! We always feel better when we leave than we did when we arrived.
Dennis is an outstanding coach, highly skilled and an excellent resource for self defense training. I highly recommend his course.

Krav Panim El Panim or KAPAP is the Hebrew acronym for face-to-face combat. It is the original combat system of CQB, hand-to-hand combat and self-defense, employed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). KAPAP (Krav Maga) fight tactics originated in the 1940s and were used by the Palmach (Jewish Strike Brigades) forces in fighting for the independence of the state of Israel. These Palmach units later formed the core of Israel's special units in the conventional military (IDF). The KAPAP Academy is staffed by former official Israeli military and police instructors in counter-terror combatives (LOTAR). In oppose to typical martial arts schools, it is an "all combat" system -- a system totally dedicated to close combat and self-defense, with and without weapons. It has no sporting or competition aspect, nor does it adhere to any classical or traditional school of thought. KAPAP Combative Concepts is the first and the only training center in Illinois to be certified by the KAPAP Academy. We offer authentic Israeli combative CQB, H2H combat, tactical training, and more. In addition to our KAPAP and Krav Maga training, we offer Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) classes, kids programs (Tae Kwon Do), women self-defense classes, and uniquely designed combat fitness classes. We offer 2 free trial classes, so stop by to get your guest pass today!
The approach I take in teaching self-defense is unique because I do not teach one style or one way, but rather, I take the best from various martial arts and fit them to the individual's strengths and weaknesses. I break it down in such a way that kids can even understand it, and I put them through real-life simulated scenarios to raise confidence in skill against the dangers of reality. The classes are separated by levels which are Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and Master. Each level builds on the premise of the previous level, and there are graduation benefits to those that pass the test to move up in training. In the end, what takes years for martial arts to teach you in the line of defending yourself, you can learn here in months. A part of this training is fitness so that you are physically capable of performing the techniques required with the most optimal result. The last thing a person wants is to be out of breath while they are fighting for their life. Skill can take you far, but physicality combined with skill can guarantee reassurance of your ability to defend yourself in any scenario.
