FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a base fee for writing, editing and performing the ceremony. Other additional charges that may be billed are rehearsal time, travel expenses, overnight accommodations and excessive wedding delays. Usually a wedding more than 50 miles away will incur travel expenses in the neighborhood of $50 or more. If rehearsal requires an overnight stay, that will need to be added. An added value is an amazing sound system used by professional bands. My husband runs the mixer board and makes sure all of the music sounds as if it was live. Wireless Mics, elevated speakers and high end mixer boards ensure the sound at a wedding ceremony is perfect. Pricing is very reasonable and less than a typical DJ would charge.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been involved in weddings in some form or another for close to 40 years. I have done flowers off and on all my life. I have also made wedding and bridesmaid dresses. I dearly love to do cakes and have perfected the art of making sugarpaste flowers that look incredibly real. Wedding guests really love how they look, taste and how beautiful and creative they are. I added a couple of photos of recent cakes I have done. I have also used my creativity to make amazing decorations for huge receptions. Along with these areas, I have also selected music, built playlists for both ceremony and reception, and catered the entire event. Anyway, since I feel I have always been involved in the ministry of weddings, it was only natural that I chose to become a certified officiant. It is this work that is most fulfilling to me.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do your typical traditional ceremony, I also do more informal weddings. I have done vow renewals, re-marriages and even friendship ceremonies. All of these occasions can be done with as much style and elegance or be as relaxed and informal as the parties wish.
