FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It really depends on the client's request as each project varies.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After our initial conversation via phone and/or e-mail, I like to meet at a local coffee shop for an in-person meeting to discuss the potential client's concept and ideas. From there, we go over the next steps of the process. These steps include reviewing fabric swatches, notions and discussing any other technical details of the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to Spelman College and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Mathematics. I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design where I studied Fashion Design from 2014 to 2016. In March 2014, I was a RAW featured artist showcasing handmade accessories, pillowcases and pillows. The following month I received the Most Creative award at the EcoFab Trash Couture Recycled Runway for a garment created from everyday usable items. I have participated in the Summer Intensive Studies program at Parson’s in New York, NY and excelled in the sewing instruction from middle school to college. I have been doing freelance work as a seamstress since June of 2015 and I've met some amazing people along the way.
