- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
*Custom Product, Graphic Design, Alterations(100% payment up front), Market Analysis: I like to begin by asking for as much detail as the client can provide about what it is that they want made and, in a detailed manner, inform them of my creative and business process. After we've gone over a few sketches and concrete ideas and I have a good idea of what they want, I'm able to quote a price. An 80% deposit is made before beginning work with the remainder due prior to receiving goods. Upon receipt of 20% balance, products may either be picked up or shipped. Fashion Design (Pre-Production/Production): We like to begin with an introduction email after receiving inquiry about fashion design, that details our abilities as a manufacturer and our variable service rates. In the event that the client would like to move forward, we set up a consultation ($100/hr and $75 for each additional hour up to 3 hours). During this meeting we get into the specifics of what needs to be done in order to complete the client's project. This consultation is also designed to provide us with enough information to yield an itemized quote for service. Sewing Lessons: Our prices are given up front and we also like to ask about what it is the potential sewing student wants to learn and why. This gives us a good directional understanding of how to personalize each person's lessons. Payment, whether for monthly classes or hourly are due in advance of the first session. During the first session we will test the ability of each student right away on the sewing machine. We intend on teaching you how to sew as fast as your ability will let you! (*All students must purchase a domestic sewing machine for take home homework and continued learning. A serger is not necessary but highly recommended. For the two machines you may spend between $350-$600 brand new.) NOW LET'S LEARN TO SEW!!!
