Run away as fast as you can!
Larry Jr. practically stole my $3500.00 retainer fee. I never saw an invoice until he sent one over showing there was NO MONEY LEFT. I had no idea that he had blown through that money so fast. And this is just in a matter of 2.5 months.
I never got invoices via email or mail. When I asked once where my invoice was he said, "Oh we're doing that tomorrow." DID I EVER GET ONE??? NO! Not until the end. And we weren't even DONE with my divorce! In fact, we aren't even close to being done!
And then he wanted MORE money for the divorce. He said if we went to court to deal with my ex that I'd be spending 2k-5k more. He knew I didn't have more money and still never said a word that I was running out of it.
So, now that you know he won't tell you where you stand financially you should also know that he doesn't advise you on what to do. Seriously. He talks in circles about how this could happen if we do this, or this could happen if we do that over and over. By the end of the conversation he has NO REAL PLAN and you are left feeling confused. And all the pressure is on you! And I'm assuming that you and me don't have legal training. Shouldn't HE be telling you the best possible plan?
Many times I had to write things FOR him and send them over in a Word doc (which was then sent to the opposing lawyer) because he obviously couldn't be bothered to stay on top of my case or give a damn. I never felt like he was on my side advocating for me in any way.
Now he won't refund my money or even speak to me since I fired him. I SCRAPED, BORROWED and BEGGED for this money from family and friends so that I could divorce my evil husband-the husband who beat me and went to jail. And now, I have been victimized AGAIN by Larry Jr. I have no idea how I'm going to pay for another lawyer now other than sell a kidney.
Sure he's a smooth talker and has LOTS of stories to tell (which all paint him in the best light) but when it comes down to it he is incompetent, doesn't care about his clients and is in this business to make money fast.
I am beyond disappointed and jaded at this point. All I can do is sit here and cry and pray to God that no one ever uses him again. I am now forced to report him to the State Bar of Texas.

Larry Jr was recommended to me by several people, but I had postponed meeting him for several months because a divorce was such a scary thing to consider! When we finally met, I found him to be outspoken and honest. He told me what I needed to hear, and prepared me for what I should expect in proceeding with a divorce. He guided me into looking at my situation realistically, taking positive action, and planning for my future, instead of becoming a victim of my circumstance. He helped guide me through the emotional ups and downs, and we completed the process of my uncontested divorce in less than 3 months. His legal assistant Melissa was very helpful, and encouraged me to write down all my questions so I could get them all answered at once rather than calling the office each time something popped into my head. I am so appreciative of the difficult work Larry put into my case hes honest and very trustworthy. Thank you, for your time and your compassion for everything I went through. Larry fought for my case, and finally I able to get closure on my custody battle, I am more then please with the outcome. Hes knowledgeable and brilliant he took the weight off my shoulders. He was great about keeping me informed with every aspect of the case, and if needed his paralegal was able to walk me through everything that came up. Larry is defiantly dedicated to his job and does an outstanding job at it. I can honestly say he is the best attorney and I highly recommend him.
