FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, typically Materials, Equipment and Labor is the breakdown. I look at the overall size of the job, how much detail the tree will take to accomplish the desired look. and can either price it per tree, or for the whole yard of trees.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In a typical first interaction with a customer, I will take a walkthrough of the house to see what work the customer wants done, I know a basic rubric of all the tools and equipment that may need to be rented, the cost of materials, and labor. That's my breakdown of the cost. Usually I keep a pretty modest contracting salary of about $40-$50 per hour per person. Once we can both be happy with a commitment to do the work and for how much, I will set an appointment to come climb and trim the trees. Afterwards we rake the yard and arrange it neatly, Then we have a walkthrough of the work and see to it that you are 100% satisfied before paying a cent.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a civil engineering college background at UT. I have worked as a land surveyor getting tree surveys done for large plots of land. I have worked in attic insulation, radiant barrier installation, poly-iso foam board installation. A lot of those relate to my experience trimming or removing trees. I became familiar with the tools from cutting through the woods or removing small trees.
