Steve was soo nice to work with. He handled all of the family list of photos for my sons Bar Mitzvah with aplomb. However it is the candids he took of everything from his perspective throughout the night that were really amazing. He got all the emotion and laughs and joy and the beauty of the outdoor venue as the light changed. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Portrait sessions start at $175 and Events start at $200 for the 1st hour. Beyond that, pricing is custom and based on a variety of factors: time for the shoot, amount of post-production needed, if the shoot is fun or will benefit my portfolio, number of desired images, and of course the type of shoot (personal vs corporate vs commercial). Every shoot is different, but I always aim to provide an good value for what services I can provide in relation to my strengths as a photographer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Again, this seems to vary a little, but in general the process is as follows: - Discuss project via email / text / phone. - Agree on date / time / price. - If the project is an event, I send a short survey to be completed. - I send a photo agreement via email which outlines the terms and payment schedule. In most cases, I take an initial payment to reserve the time, the balance and applicable tax is due the day of the shoot. - I create a calendar event with location and invite the customer via email. - Check in the week of appointment to confirm. - Customer can bring a shot list / examples of desired look to the shoot. - After the session, the images are delivered digitally via Google Drive / Dropbox, between 2 and 15 days depending on the type of project. -Prints are always custom and take about 3-4 weeks. -I accept all forms of payment (cash, paypal, venmo, or credit card) and can send online invoicing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I love to see live music. A few years ago it occurred to me that I can get into concerts for free in exchange for a photo gallery. The rest is history.
