FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
// INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY Cost varies depending on the type of shoot (couple, family, corporate headshots, maternity, newborn, etc.) but general falls around $175-250 a session. Sessions are usually an hour but need to be longer depending on the situation (Ex. newborn portraits). // COMMERCIAL This requires a much more detailed conversation to figure out business objectives, content usage, etc. Generally speaking, though, my half day rate is $600 and my full day rate is $1200.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
PROCESS // SETUP When you contact me, the first thing we'll do is talk about what the shoot is for and how the images will be used. Then, I'll recommend some locations I've scouted based on the mood that you want, visual inspiration that you've found, etc. // INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY I always start by chatting with my subjects to get them comfortable with me and with being in front of the camera. I love shooting outside with natural light, so our session will usually look like a casual walk-and-talk. For studio shots, I have a studio setup (backdrop, lighting kit, etc.) and can do a pop-up session in the comfort of your own home. // COMMERCIAL This requires a much more detailed conversation to figure out business objectives, content usage, etc. // EDITS & TURNAROUND From the photos, I'll select the best 20-30+ photos (given an hour-long session). I'll edit the photos in Photoshop and Lightroom and upload them to Pixieset.com. Your photo folder will be private and password protected, and you have 30 days to download the images. You also have the option to order physical prints through Pixieset.com. Turnaround time is 5 business days but usually happens sooner.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin. (As well as a B.A. in French Language & Literature, a minor in Portuguese, and a minor in Entrepreneurship.) I definitely bring an advertising and marketing lens to my commercial photography work.
