Deck or Porch Remodel or Addition
I am very glad I hired this contractor. Their estimator Victor is the most pleasant person to deal with. I really liked how fast these guys work from paperwork to construction. My new deck is awesome and I loved the fact they gave me free maintenance coupon. Alex, Victor, Paul and Timur you guys are amazing. Thank you!Aug 30, 2017Verified
Our family has bought a new house that needed some tweaks here and there. Besides we always wanted to have a deck with pergola. We had a few other companies coming over for estimates but nobody invested as much time as Alex did. He did a great job coming up with design ideas and all the blueprints. His crew worked hard and our new deck was exactly what we wanted. If you want to work with a group of people who genuinely care about quality, who listen and understand, then call Silex Construction. At least ask them to come over and give you an estimate.Mar 2, 2018
It was a great overall experience working with Alex and his crew. Not only was he extremely responsive regarding any questions we had throughout the process, but he was also genuine in his responses, providing guidance and options for any of our requests. His estimates and final pricing were very competitive with other quotes we received and we would definitely use Silex Construction for any future projects we have.Sep 30, 2017
Alex and his team helped us out with our deck repair. My husband and I were going to rent out our house and it did not pass inspection because of the deck. Alex showed up for an estimate, he gave us a good quote and started working next day. He replaced boards that needed to be replaced, changed bolts as the ones we had were not code compliant, and he pressure-washed our deck for free. We really enjoyed working with Silex Construction. Thanks!Sep 11, 2017
After having a few meetings with contractors we hired Silex Construction to sand our wooden deck and fence and re-stain them. Silex Construction were not the lowest bid but we felt they had the best knowledge and we were most comfortable with them. Alex and his workers were very professional and we were in great hands. We are so pleased with the outcome and would not trust future projects to any other company.Sep 27, 2017
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When we reach out to a new Customer, we offer a free in-home estimate. This allows us to provide the most accurate estimated cost of the project. Quotes that we give on site are binding; that's why we encourage Customers to take advantage of this free service we offer. When Customer chooses to hire us for the project, we send out a contract that provides a detailed breakdown of the services offered, and project specifics like measurements, material, color, turnaround time. Upon signing the contract we request a 30% deposit that can be paid with a credit card, check or cash. There is a 3% discount when Customers pay with cash or check. The day before project is scheduled to start, your project assistant will reach out to you to confirm the time we should arrive next day - your project assistant will arrive together with our crew of contractors at that time. At the end of each project day we are going to reach out to you to check on the progress and to ask for your feedback. When your home improvement is finished, we'll come over to inspect the results and close the contract.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?First and foremost make sure professional you are considering to hire is MHIC licensed, as this is required by Law. Ask for their MHIC and contact Maryland Home Improvement Commission to verify their license number. Hiring an unlicensed contractor might put you at risk an unlicensed contractor will not be able to obtain construction license if one is required for your project. Having something built without a permit becomes a burden for a homeowner if it turns out a home improvement project was not carried out in compliance with local County or City Construction Code; or when you decide to sell your property and it needs to be inspected. MHIC license means your contractor has proper education and necessary experience, and that your contract is protected by Maryland Home Improvement Commission.
