Absolutely the best!! We hired Colin and his team to build out a movie theater in our home. It looks very extravagant and our kids are so excited to have this new addition to our home! They listen to our needs and communicated very well with us throughout the process. He was very professional and completed the job in a quick time frame. Hiring Colin Cumberbatch (Carib Subs, LLC) as the builder for our new home was a TERRIBLE mistake and I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. For starters, the entire process from start to finish took an entire 2 years (for a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom, not a mansion). Initial construction began March 2015 and we just moved into our home April 2017. In the first three months, the only work done was the pad and plumbing. The bank dropped the loan as there was barely any work being done in that 3 month period and they said there was no way the builder could do the work for price he was charging in the time he was saying it would be done (Colin told us it would take 3-6 months). After the drop and getting approved for a new loan from a different bank, there was a 3 month hold on construction so this pushed work back to February 2016. The construction site looked more like an abandoned home rather than a new home being built. The work on the home was done carelessly and had to be repaired as it was hideous. The tile in both full bathrooms had to be replaced, tub was damaged and needed to be replaced, rooms had to be repainted paint as it was not even and there was streaks of unmixed paint across the walls, staircase had to be ripped out and replaced as boards were not even, closets had to be redone as shelves were not placed correctly, walls had to be replaced and the entire trim had to be redone. Putty was used to fill in 1/4-1/2" gaps instead of wood being cut correctly and there is overspray of paint on all of our windows and brand new doors that we have not been able to remove. Our floors are covered in paint splatter and grout, stone, concrete and building materials are found everywhere outside of the home (materials were cut and thrown literally everywhere around the home, which we are still cleaning up, screens for windows were not put in and we are still waiting now on the second order as first order placed and received was not even the correct screens for our windows. All of this work can be seen in the photos I've posted. All of the work that had to be redone (including materials and workers compensation) had to be paid out of our pockets, which ended up coming from our furniture money. Getting ahold of the builder was nearly impossible and he was never on site to watch the work being done. He seems to not answer phone calls or return messages but rather text you back days later. We had to reach out to him for updates on when things were being done and when they would be scheduled as he never seemed to care about informing us on the progress. In many cases, it was like we had to tell him what the next step was and who to call. So unless you plan on taking on the role of becoming the builder of your own home, please save yourself the time and frustration and go with someone who will make your job a priority and not a hobby.
