Introduction: Personality and relatability go a long way in helping a client feel comfortable enough to let go and forget the camera is around. I do my best to ensure my clients have fun in front of my lens, making it easier to capture those real moments they want to remember forever. I love catching the real moments of life, love and family... stolen glances, big laughs, emotional hugs... these things inspire me.
As long as I can remember, I always had a camera around. Camping trips, parties, an evening in or out with friends, I was always documenting the event. I had no idea what I was doing, but I was fixated on capturing the moment or trying to portray the natural beauty through my camera. My poor parents spent a lot of money on developing my film throughout the years. I am sure there are still multiple shoeboxes filled with my “extremely professional” work in my mother’s closet (please note the sarcasm).
Although I was never formally trained, my obsessive passion for improving has helped me come a long way from my shoebox work days. I am a perfectionist and a realist at the same time. I want to get things right without sacrificing the realness of the moment. I roll with the punches, willing to try new things, laugh at mistakes but always make sure I learn from them.
I want to provide a comfortable environment for my clients so they can almost forget the camera is around, allowing me to capture those magical moments that become wall worthy art. I am inspired by those candid, authentic and emotional interactions between people that portray the connection that they have for each other.
