FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have my customers complete a assessment that asks questions about their goals, allergies, medical background, and more. This helps me create a customized plan for each individual that give them the best opportunity for success!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a my holistic nutrition certification through AFPA and I manage my own health and wellness blog where I continually research and write about the latest nutrition information. It is important for me to continue to learn and educate myself as well as the individuals that I provide services to.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Around the time my mother was diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time, I was in my mid 20's and also started developing illnesses of my own. Everything I was eating was making me sick, and doctors just weren't helping. I had a hard time believing my family just had a "bad set of genes" and I was doomed for a life of medication in my future. So, I began doing research, and was both shocked and disgusted by all of the misguided nutrition information that was being marketed to the public. Things I believed were true about eating healthy, were unveiling as marketing scams and false advertising (e.g., milk for strong bones, calorie counting to lose weight, carbs being evil). So, I had to find sources and studies that were not monetized by big corporations simply trying to make a buck. And since my mother had a very serious disease my research began extending into evidence that supported nutrition as a way to reverse and even cure illnesses. This began my journey into holistic nutrition, and it has been the best thing that has changed not only my life, but also my families.
