Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: With my extensive background working in the high-end and vintage fashion markets, my goal is to help you easily look great on any occasion. By minimizing your possessions and maximizing the quality of your garments, we can curate your personal style and closet together. I believe in making this experience as economically and environmentally sustainable as possible. If you are a powerhouse businessperson or a stay at home parent who doesn't have enough time, energy, or the knowledge to fine-tune your unique look I encourage you to contact me. I consider myself an environmentalist, which doesn't always seem to align with the fashion industry. In a time when our leaders deny our negative impact on the planet I believe it is imperative for the collective to be conscious consumers. This is why I do most of my shopping at resale establishments such as common threads, rags to riches, buffalo exchange, and crossroads as well as online resale sites. Some level of new purchasing is inevitable, however it is important to consider those decisions wisely and offset them when possible. It is my goal to educate my clients on the negative impact of the apparel industry and together work to reduce our impact while still acquiring quality wardrobe staples.

Madison is amazing at this. She has the perfect balance of brand knowledge, fashion sense, trend awareness, vintage appreciation and sensitivity that gave me the confidence to totally re do my closet and let go to renew. Even without adding anything new my look was more confident and fresh. I have since added a few new items, but strategically, because she gave me a plan and list to refer to. She dove deep into my extensive collection and worked really hard and nonstop until she got through it all. She went beyond my expectations in taking care of all the dirty work that would have derailed me. Most importantly, she is a joy to work with and talk fashion with! She knew when to insist I let go of something, when to let me over ride her and when to insist I keep something. I respect her for that soft skill and appreciate her dedication to the job. She is the whole package!

I had a blast working with Madison! I'm a young male professional and I needed an upgrade of my wardrobe to match the business casual vibe of working in downtown San Francisco... so after a brief consultation she totally understood what my unique style needs were. We went to the local Buffalo Exchange where she was able to quickly identify some really amazing deals on high-end clothing that I would have skimmed right over if I had gone there myself. My favorite part was after I tried on each outfit she knew exactly what looked good and what didn't have the best fit. This alone was huge for me. Usually when I shop for clothes I feel drained by the end and have a so-so idea of what looks good, but after my time with Madison I had a huge boost of energy and self-confidence with a bag full of new clothes. It's great to have an initial boost of confidence, but as I write this review it's been 1 year since our first consultation and I still get compliments at meetings, dates, etc. all the the time when I'm wearing the pieces that Madison selected for me. Highly recommended!

When your closet is in your living room and you only have space for a chest of drawers in your bedroom, you realize maintaining order is a real struggle of New York living. I really liked Madison's approach of reviewing each garment one by one. As you're going through and trying different things you discuss pairings - what you like and what you might not like, and why you have it in the first place. She helps identify flattering styles and silhouettes, similair styles owned, and even helps you finally let go of things you've been holding onto for the wrong reasons. It was so liberating to see three large bags of clothing physically exit the apartment and dropped into the donation bin. I had almost two dozen empty hangers by the end of it. I felt instantly lighter. Madison has a solid grasp on staples every modern woman's wardrobe should have. She helped organize my closet by season, and divided clothing that needed alterations, dry cleaning, or repair. It was really nice to commence the new year with an organized closet and to feel so uncluttered!

Madison was amazing. She helped me so very much in organizing, discarding and updating my clothes. We even went shopping for new items and she was able to sell some of my discarded items. As a result of visit I have a super paired down, organized closet with lots of new looks from existing items and additional key pieces to create a look that is just right for me. She worked within my budget and I am delighted whenever I walk into my closet. Well worth the money. Highly recommend.

I engaged Madison to help clean out and organize my closet and then help me shop efficiently for key pieces that were needed (after she took time to understand my lifestyle). I travel A LOT and would never have had time to do this myself - not to mention the "eye" or the skill she has. I now pack for a trip in half the time. I don't dig through old "clutter" and feel really confident when I unpack my bag at the hotel. Madison is pretty much magic not to mention she's the easiest person in the world to work with! Highly recommend.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $50 an hour and have 4 hour minimums per session. I can usually do a full closet makeover in 4-5 sessions depending on the size of your existing wardrobe.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

FREE CONSULTATION To start the process, I will provide a free consultation in which we sit down and discuss what I do, what you would like to achieve, inspiration, budget etc. I will ask you questions to familiarize myself with your lifestyle and unique personal taste. I also like to take a look at the physical space to get an idea of the length of the project. MINIMIZING Upon hire we will begin an in depth sorting of your existing clothing. Typically my clients shed 2-10 twenty gallon size trash bags of damaged, dated, or unused clothing and accessories. At the same time I will create a comprehensive list of the colors, styles, brands, etc. that do or do not work for you, as well as a list of needs. ORGANIZATION & RESELLING/DONATING After we make some decisions together we can begin implementing a system to better organize what you are keeping. We will also up cycle your old things and try to resell anything that may be applicable. Things that cant be resold will be dropped off at a charity of your choice. SHOPPING Now that we have freed up some hangers, the fun part begins! Once we have successfully cleaned house, we can more easily identify what may be missing. I promote conscience consumerism and believe in making this process as economically and environmentally sustainable as possible. I am a huge believer in quality over quantity and getting the biggest bang for your buck! I want to help you find additions that will serve you for numerous years and will fit well into your existing wardrobe. PAIRING At the end we will go through your new and existing items to pair outfits and determine if the articles are wearable, practical, and comfortable. Sometimes I take photos of outfits so you can easily remember how to pair each piece. I have even created booklets for my clients to refer to.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

BACKGROUND What makes me qualified to come into your closet and praise, reject, and select garments that suit you specifically? I have a degree from FIDM San Francisco in Visual Communications, with an emphasis on Styling. I have worked in the fashion industry since graduation, managing multiple resale stores including Buffalo Exchange Colorado and Wasteland Los Angeles. I also managed a high end fashion showroom specializing in exquisite Italian collections. This position led me to work market and fashion weeks in New York, Paris, and Italy. My interests in past and current fashion, personal expression, and organization drive me to keep my finger on the pulse of the industry. I am experimental in my personal way of dress and I like to encourage my clients to think out of the box, however I am dedicated to the unique aesthetic of each client.
