FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $50 an hour and have 4 hour minimums per session. I can usually do a full closet makeover in 4-5 sessions depending on the size of your existing wardrobe.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
FREE CONSULTATION To start the process, I will provide a free consultation in which we sit down and discuss what I do, what you would like to achieve, inspiration, budget etc. I will ask you questions to familiarize myself with your lifestyle and unique personal taste. I also like to take a look at the physical space to get an idea of the length of the project. MINIMIZING Upon hire we will begin an in depth sorting of your existing clothing. Typically my clients shed 2-10 twenty gallon size trash bags of damaged, dated, or unused clothing and accessories. At the same time I will create a comprehensive list of the colors, styles, brands, etc. that do or do not work for you, as well as a list of needs. ORGANIZATION & RESELLING/DONATING After we make some decisions together we can begin implementing a system to better organize what you are keeping. We will also up cycle your old things and try to resell anything that may be applicable. Things that cant be resold will be dropped off at a charity of your choice. SHOPPING Now that we have freed up some hangers, the fun part begins! Once we have successfully cleaned house, we can more easily identify what may be missing. I promote conscience consumerism and believe in making this process as economically and environmentally sustainable as possible. I am a huge believer in quality over quantity and getting the biggest bang for your buck! I want to help you find additions that will serve you for numerous years and will fit well into your existing wardrobe. PAIRING At the end we will go through your new and existing items to pair outfits and determine if the articles are wearable, practical, and comfortable. Sometimes I take photos of outfits so you can easily remember how to pair each piece. I have even created booklets for my clients to refer to.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BACKGROUND What makes me qualified to come into your closet and praise, reject, and select garments that suit you specifically? I have a degree from FIDM San Francisco in Visual Communications, with an emphasis on Styling. I have worked in the fashion industry since graduation, managing multiple resale stores including Buffalo Exchange Colorado and Wasteland Los Angeles. I also managed a high end fashion showroom specializing in exquisite Italian collections. This position led me to work market and fashion weeks in New York, Paris, and Italy. My interests in past and current fashion, personal expression, and organization drive me to keep my finger on the pulse of the industry. I am experimental in my personal way of dress and I like to encourage my clients to think out of the box, however I am dedicated to the unique aesthetic of each client.
