Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: No resume can get you a job. Only you can do that. But a resume is your ticket to that first interview. It gets your foot in the door. For better or for worse, it’s your first impression. A strong resume tells them who you are, what you’ve done, and why you bring value. It does so with clarity and authority, and through clean, efficient writing. Recruiters and hiring managers aren’t looking for adverbs. They don’t want fluff. They want substance. So let’s work together to get your story right. Let’s develop your brand and define your value proposition, and substantiate it with specific results and achievements from your career. Let’s get you a resume that represents you the way you want and gives you confidence that you’re putting your best foot forward in a digital job search. I can’t get you a job, but I can help you get in that interview room. It’s on you from there. This isn't a big company. There are no marginally paid staff writers. There's one guy. And it's me. For the past 4 years, I've been the hired gun of some of the most expensive resume writing companies out there. I'd get the hard assignments -- the demanding C-level clients, the frustrated customers requesting rewrites, the clients with backgrounds so complex and so esoteric that no one else could understand them. People would spend lots of money to work with me and I'd make them very happy. I've written over 1,000 resumes. Out of those, exactly 2 have requested rewrites. One guy was a little crazy, I think. He was an IT Program Manager in Germany, and he'd flip-flop between overly enthusiastic "Oh my, it's fantastic! It's perfect!" emails to frantic, all-caps 2am emails saying "This is an ABSOLUTE DISASTER!!! WE NEED A COMPLETE RE-DO!!!" So I asked the company to reassign him and gave up my payment. A week later, he sent me an apologetic note saying that I was better than the new writer and that he hoped he could work with me independently. I respectfully declined. The other one was a very nice, smart, accomplished Operations executive at a Fortune 100 company. I can't say anything bad about her; I just couldn't make her happy. So there were those 2. Otherwise, my batting average is over .998, which isn't bad for the internet economy. I graduated from Georgetown University a little while back, where I was also a defensive back for the school's Division 1-AA football team. I lived and worked in New Orleans for a bit, where I wrote articles and press releases that were published in The New Orleans Times-Picayune, New Orleans City Business, and New Orleans Living Magazine. In freelance roles, I've ghostwritten articles and opinion pieces that were published on Forbes.com and the Huffington Post. I'm currently on a full scholarship at a Top 40 law school. I do have the Certified Professional Resume Writing (CPRW) distinction, but I had that when I didn't know what I was doing and was writing terrible resumes, so who cares. No one dreams of growing up to become a resume writer. I sure as hell didn't. I do this to support myself while pursuing bigger dreams. But I'm a good writer, I know what I'm doing, I take it seriously, and I take pride in my ability to help you say what you want to say. You want me in your corner. I promise.
