FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $65 an hour. When I worked at an agency that built websites from 2008 to 2012, they charged $110 an hour for my work. I built on average 2 websites per month for four years. Those sites ranged from $3000 to $30000. As a freelancer, you're getting the same $110 but for the fine discount of 40% off (although if you check, I'm pretty sure that ICGLink dot com, the agency that employed me, is no longer as low as $110 - that was a half-decade ago).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Let's talk; I want to understand your business. I want to understand how your website and processes add value to your business. If I understand that, then all the work I do for your website will, in turn, add value to your business.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Information Systems. At one point I decided that I wanted to be Linux Apache MySQL PHP (LAMP) certified. I set out to do so, and though there is no Apache certification, I did serve as an Apache Website Administrator on the Architecture and Compliance Board at Marshall Space Flight Center. Additionally I received my LPIC-1, Linux certification, MySQL Associate, MySQL certification, and also Zend PHP5, PHP certification. I built my first website for the U.S. Army in 1997.
