FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based per job and revisions. A typical set of plans for a 2500 Sq. Ft. main floor with an unfinished basement includes the following: Main and basement floor plans, electrical plans, site plan, window and door schedule, notes, res check, two cross sections, and a birds eye view of the roof. Initial 4-5 hours design consultation. 1 red-line/revision included with and additional 3-4 hours of design/consultation time. The price for the services included above is $1500. We can meet either in person or over skype/web. Upon the signing of a design contract, half up the bid up front and half upon completion. Hourly consultation time for design is $75 per hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our design process depends on the customer. Some customers approach us with an idea already in mind and know exactly what they want, these are great customers to work with, and usually during the question/answer session we go through about how they live, we may uncover a few tweeks to the plan. Other customers are simply looking for something custom to meet their needs and we talk about overall budget for the property, bedroom, bathroom, garage and any other specific needs such as a home office or multi-generational family. From their we come up with an design sketch and some examples of the general exterior style and materials, and at the end of the design consultation, we have an initial layout for them to consider before our next meeting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied architecture and design in high-school and college but have been in the building trades (framing, finish, electrical, concrete, roofing, etc.) from the time I was 14. I have been in real estate marketing and design for the last 20 years.
