FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I think each job have those specific needs. To take pictures of nature I need my camera and lenses and patient. The simple act of slow down and observe more around it's all I need to catch good moments (make simple tests before your first serious click it's always needed). To light a movie scene or a comercial pack shot I need a lot of light and accessories independently of my camera or which camera I use. To take a single click of a food I take a lot of time preparing and testing and this kind of work demands a lot of specific knowledge and time. I love light and photography but sometimes you must charge your effort, your time and your invested money on that. The kind of job changes everything for me.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually starts choosing a location and time. This is very important because it determine the equipment and accessories needed. Preparation is my best friend. I like to visit the location before taking pictures. It helps a lot to prevent problems and to do a better preparation. After rear what my customers want, in location, I can imagine a lot of more possibilities that could be appreciated by the them and I start to create in mind these possibilities. All before taking pictures. In my point of view it's the best way to increase the results, helping simple pictures to become great pictures, even in common situations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied on a Film School in Brazil called Escola de Cinema Darcy Ribeiro. There was my first contact with photography and lightning, but I learned what I know working. Taking different kind of pictures and lightning different situations teach more about light you can learn in a class. Its all about practice and experimentation (after basic theory).
