My husband and I are from central Texas, and we love BBQ. I have gone so far as to drive to a highly regarded BBQ joint in lower Manhattan to secure an authentic smoked turkey on Thanksgiving. We were thrilled to see Pik Nik offer smoked turkeys. I ordered the full dinner w/ desert for 10. The 12+ lbs smoked turkey was fantastic with a light brown crisp skin and moist deeply smoked flavored meat. Pik Nik's southern flare elevated the traditional Thanksgiving sides. The sweet potatoes were amazing and chalked full of rich spices and pecans. The green beans were retained their freshness and seasoned with garlic slivers and mild spices. The mashed potatoes and gravy were my favorite. The gravy was made from a very rich broth. The dressing had a perfect consistency, not too moist, not too dry. Last, the pumpkin pie was not your normal fare. With a hint more spice than most, it was a lovely pie with a ring of fresh whipped cream and candied pecans. The full package included a fresh baked biscuits (with bacon!), cornbread, and cranberry sauce made from fresh berries. We picked up everything on Thanksgiving morning. The operation was well organized and super easy. To make this dinner myself, I have no doubt that I would have paid more for the ingredients alone. I will definitely do this again.

I recently contacted Chef Sanz because I was hosting a private dinner party for some work colleagues. I know nothing about cooking but he came highly recommended from a close friend. As far as concept wise I didn't really bring much to the table but I did tell him a little bit about what I do and don't like. From the little information I gave him he was able to put together this elaborate 6 course meal that literally left everyone at the table speechless. And let me tell you this is a very tough crowd to impress. I can go on and on but the point is he's simply amazing. He was easy to talk to and his talent will marvel you.
