- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? My typical process in beginning a new client relationship is to offer I a complimentary quote to everyone of my prospective clients to ensure a good fit. This initial strategy session will help us get a clear expectation of the services requested. If we decide to move forward together, the client and I will make all decisions and set time frames, the depth of work is up to the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have 30 + yrs. experience working as a painter both commercial and residential, and interior and exterior. The experience applies to both pairing and staining for new and established construction. I’m an experienced aerial lift operator and i have obtained certification in identifying and safely working with lead paint, which means Becoming certified follows the Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) rule, which states that if you are paid to perform renovation, repair, or painting work in houses built before 1978, you must be trained to do so.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I was 15, working as a mechanic at Sinclair Gas Station. One regular customer had issues with his van, after working on multiple issues over several months the client asked if “ I’d be interested in a job as a painter?” He offered more money and an opportunity to earn higher wage in faster increments with the possibility of owning my own company , which at 15 years old sounds great! I went to work as a painter.
