Introduction: International CEO, Voice America Radio Host-Leadership Beyond Borders

Leadership Trainer for International Companies
CEO Search Information Association Europe
With over 25 years executive management experience in over 18 countries and working with over 38 nationalities, I have over 29 International awards for leadership, marketing, and operations in my pocket. I understand the challenges employees, managers and leaders face in today’s rapidly changing business environment.
Born in the little town of Wickford, Rhode Island, I received degrees from Webster, George Washington and Harvard Universities, before I decided my world was too small and I wanted out.
I fought my way to become the first women to go international with New York New England Telephone Company in 1990. My first assignment, which everyone thought I would fail, was to bring business and leadership practices to the “New Wild West”, better known as Eastern Europe. The wall had just “fallen” and the business field was as green as it could get. I very often found myself trying to teach business and leaderships skills in companies that had only 1 telephone for 40 employees!
This unique opportunity allowed me to learn the “leadership concepts” of communism and how to help new mangers experience the new “western” leadership skills. It was basically teaching “old dogs to do new tricks”.
But as soon as everyone learned the new tricks things changed again, and as the CEO of a technology company, I soon found myself helping managers deal with new leadership challenges such as global and virtual workforces.
All my experiences helped me develop a passion for what good leadership is and how it can have a powerful impact on a companies results. I also realized important diversity and cultural tolerance is, and how it is key to driving employee engagement and change.
All this became a fighter for diversity in leadership and an advocator of tolerance. I was the first woman to be elected President of the European Association of Search and Data Publishers in Brussels, even though I was an American and a women, at a time when both were not welcome into the game. I currently serve as General Manager and Board Member on The European Search and Information Association in Switzerland.
