FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, I do. My session fee/retainer is a non-refundable guarantee of my time, talent and services, as well as professional hair & makeup artistry, when applicable, based on the number of subjects to be photographed. An exclusive line of quality products are available for purchase, and include the digital file for every portrait you buy. Wall art - a 7x10 print matted to 11x14, starts at $125 per image. Folio Collections of 6 are $600, 10 for $750, and 20 for $1,200; available in a box or album.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally, a phone conversation kicks it off by discussing the types of images you want to create, who all will be in the photoshoot, desired look/location, session fee, what's included, and product offerings and pricing; we then setup a consultation appointment in the studio to discuss specific products, see samples, view and discuss wardrobe and styling, etc. At the consultation, we book your shoot, which is reserved with a retainer/session fee. Prior to your shoot, we will touch base to discuss wardrobe, hair and makeup styling, and any other details necessary to prepare for the session. The day of your session, you will be pampered with professional hair & makeup, dress up in your favorite skirt, gown, or pair of jeans, and have an absolutely marvelous time being the model in my lens. You can share this session with your significant other, mom, sister, daughter, or best friend; or you can have your husband and sons come in the last 30 minutes of your session and we'll capture wonderful images of each of them and some family portraits together. At your session, we will also schedule a reveal date, at which time you - and any decision makers you wish - may come in to view your portraits and make buying decisions. Orders will be placed and delivered soon thereafter.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do not have any formal education in photography. In fact, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management specializing in Management Information Systems, with a minor in Women's Studies, and a lifetime love for photography. In 2007, I developed a true passion for learning the art of photography and absorbed as much online training and critique as I could get in both photography and Photoshop. In 2012, I launched my part-time business and have continued to build it slowly since that time.
