FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends in part on the scope of the services provided and how well defined the work is. If the work can be defined into separate work packages, then a price per work package is agreed to and we proceed on that basis. Typically, I charge on a project basis plus a pass-thru of any additional costs incurred to my client. Examples of project work might include: Public Speaking (Seminars and Keynote Addresses), Executive Coaching, Career Coaching, Interview Preparation, Resume Writing, Business Plans, and Business Consulting. There are other ways to price services. An hourly rate can be established and I have worked with an hourly rate, however I prefer to avoid this method since it can lead to tension between my client and me regarding the number of hours worked. No matter the approach to pricing, it really depends on the client's preference. I should point out that I have never lost a client due to price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
While there may be some limited exchange of information or documents in advance, typically a face-to-face (in person or Skype) meeting starts the process. In this meeting a clear understanding of the scope of the work is determined along with schedules defined.
