John is very knowledgeable and a super nice guy. He repaired our plaster walls and ceilings in a 90 year old house we recently purchased. Before I tried Thumbtack we had two contractors who no showed and another who tried to convince us to install drywall in the entire house. He is also coming back tomorrow to cut open our windows that are painted shut and even offered to give me a tutorial on repairing the weight system that opens and closes the windows. I highly recommend.

System would only let me pick 3 items about John but all five apply. Was fast to respond worked it in schedule so the repair was complete before closing. Went back to paint the drywall repair John did and he had painted with our paint that was in the garage. A+++++++

John worked on a ceiling repair for us. He was responsive, very punctual despite of a snow storm going on at the time, and the work quality is superb! With his help we were able to find match painting thus avoid having to paint the whole ceiling. And the damage spot now completely disappeared in sight as if nothing has ever happened. Will use him again for other projects.
