Our standard payroll service is priced using a flat fee monthly all-inclusive package. The price for this package is based how many employees you have and starts at as low as $4 per employee per month. Abacus Payroll also provides additional services that can be combined with your standard monthly package, which include: ClockEntry, Outsourced HR, Paycards, and much more!

Abacus Payroll Inc. is a member of the American Payroll Association, Independent Payroll Providers Association, and is backed by MPay software. We have over 57 years of experience with a team consisting of 45 accountants and CPAs. Through our accounting firm affiliate, we have connections to the AICPA, NJCPA, and PICPA.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Abacus Payroll was established in 1999 as a division of the Alloy Silverstein Group. This decision was imperative when the Alloy Silverstein accounting firm discovered that it could save business clients money from higher billable hours by opening its own payroll company. Choosing Abacus Payroll allows clients to become more efficient while saving them time and money.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We enjoy working with small to medium size businesses industries that include: medical, veterinary, retail, law, agriculture, hospitality, construction, manufacturing and professional services areas.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking for a new payroll provider, shop the marketplace and make sure you are selecting the best partner for your business. A good payroll provider has been in business for more than just a few years, has a positive and trustworthy reputation, and will put you at ease knowing your payroll tax obligations are in the right, experienced hands.
You will want to partner with a company that can accommodate your growth, will provide you better customer service than a 1-800 number, has reliable and top-tier software, will proactively keep your data secure, and is partnered with other professionals to ensure the best practices and collaboration with your payroll functions (i.e. a CPA, benefits provider, HR consultant, business coach, financial advisor).
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Customers should always think through the services and reports that they need and what their budget is before speaking to a professional about their payroll options. Do you want to go digital with direct deposit and pay cards, or do you still require the timely shipment of paper checks? Are you properly handling the tax treatments of gratuities and bonuses? Can your timekeeping and workforce management be made easier with electronic solutions?
