Introduction: We offer a straightforward fee. BFM never accepts third-party commissions, as that would compromise the integrity of our advice. BFM has a flat-retainer fee structure (typically $200-$500 per month). There are no account-size minimum. We are not brokers. We are an independent firm, not pushing banks/insurance financial products. You can keep control on your accounts. We can meet in person or by phone/Skype. The founder has more than 20 years of true investing (not financial sales) experience. My passion for investments started in my early teens when I visited the Paris Bourse. At the time, I was given a $2 bill and started to check its value in Francs weekly. I earned a Master in Engineering before going to business school. I also created an investment club, worked at JP MORGAN, UBS, BNP, and started to manage a fund of funds in 1995. My early work experience impressed upon me the values of excellence and integrity. After 15 years of helping friends, I created Bourbon Financial Management and decided to bring my institutional money management experience (10 years at UBS) to help families live the life they want. My goal is to give every client the best possible chance of having a successful retirement. Being competent was no longer enough, I wanted meaning. Following my interest in academic research, desire to learn and educate others, and helping communities, I became an adjunct professor, the President of UFEC, chairman of Stuart Investment, and treasurer of the South Shore Drill Team. I competed during 10 years in ski and tennis. Sports has taught me discipline, hard work, how to perform well under pressure, and how to be goal oriented which is helpful as a personal chief financial officer.
