Ricky and his team did an excellent job on our project! Not only was his pricing the best out of the 5 bids that we received, his crew took their time and did it right! I have worked with dozens of contractors and I have learned that it is best to communicate, trust, and verify as the work is happening. Ricky's easy going nature made him really easy to work with and once I got a sense that he understood exactly what we needed, there was nothing more to worry about. I work with Valenz Construction again in a heartbeat!!!

Details: Entranceway • Bathroom • Floor • Wall • Countertop • 201 - 300 sq ft • Concrete • No, I need the professional to buy the tiles for me

Ricky did a great job. He did our french drain, our fence, garage floor and walls and also my overhead built in storage. He is very easy to talk to and his guys are really awesome. The job gets done on time and he worked around our budget. There are some hiccups along the way like our garage door needs to be adjusted but Rick handled it all for us. We never had any seamless contractor before and it is great to have Rick for a change. He even do things above and beyond for us like giving us a new side yard door and also replacing my neighbor’s side yard for free. We will definitely keep Rick and his guys in mind for our next home project.

Details: I'm just starting • Garage • Repair existing structure • 500 - 1,000 sq ft • Home • I am the owner

My wife and I highly, HIGHLY recommend Ricky, David, and the whole Valenz Construction family! From the first meeting until the final day, Ricky was knowledgeable, handy, responsive, responsible, courteous, friendly, the list goes on. Long story short, the remodeling of the entire front exterior of our house (as well as painting the entire exterior of the house) went remarkably smooth, and any hiccups that occurred, Ricky was there to immediately address and fix. We will be using them for any other renovations and are so happy to have gotten to know Ricky and his family. This was the first renovation we’ve ever done, and like everyone else, we were pretty worried about the costs of construction and getting involved with a bad contractor (we have heard so many bad stories). We actually had a contractor before Valenz Construction, but we did not feel he was willing to take the time to walk us through all the details, costs, and concerns we had about the project, he was more of a “my way or the highway” type, so we parted ways with him. My advice here is to trust your intuition on hiring contractors. You can terminate your relationship with them any time until they start breaking ground. Ricky, on the other hand, on our first meeting was warm and engaging and willing to slowly walk us through all the steps and how he would go about doing the remodel. Every step of the process with Ricky was great: the estimate included a breakdown of all costs, a timeline of each step to get to completion, and an estimated time of completion (they finished on time!). His costs as compared with other estimates we got were very reasonable and transparent. When the work finally started, Ricky and his dad, David, and his team of brothers and other workers were all incredibly friendly to us and our neighbors, and were very respectful of our property, cleaning up every day. David kept my worries in check, telling me not to worry about the process, that they had it under control, and walked me through any questions I had. Any questions that they had of me, they would also offer recommendations if I asked, and were very patient with my lack of knowledge about so many nuances of construction. We had one hiccup when a subcontractor did the concrete demolition and broke an underground pipe but didn’t tell anyone and then covered it in freshly poured concrete. Ricky felt terrible, but took full ownership and said whatever additional costs were incurred to fix the issue, his company would pay for it. They fixed the issue in one day, and we were moving forward. Amazing. I’ll note that sometimes problems will come up that are up to the homeowner to cover. For example, we didn’t know that there was no plyboard underneath the stucco on our house, so once the stucco was demo’d out, we had to install plyboard before we put up the siding, which was an additional unknown cost to us, but something that had to be done. My wife and I really can’t say enough about Valenz Construction. We have gotten SO many compliments on our house, and it’s all thanks to these guys for helping us craft our vision into reality. They’ve gotten a lot of deserved recommendations from our neighbors, and we hope you will take this recommendation to heart as well. One last thing that I have not mentioned specifically about Ricky, David, and Valenz Construction is integrity. Every interaction and every cost or additional item discussed was detailed in full and I always felt they were working in my best interests to do the best thing at the right cost. It’s really hard to know when you have someone with integrity in the construction business because it’s so easy to change things here and there that will add costs to the homeowner over time, but after working with Ricky and his family, I always felt that their integrity led them to do their jobs the right way all the time. 5 Stars and more for Valenz Construction, you’re the best!! P.S. If you’re curious, Valenz Construction was responsible for all work on the remodel of the house except the following – all of whom, by the way, I have provided 5 Star reviews because they were amazing as well! Who knew we could be so lucky on our first ever remodel: Garage doors - Reliable Garage Doors of Concord Landscaping – Jannisse & Sons Pavers – Solo Pavers

Details: Residential • I have permits pulled • Complete renovation of existing structure

When you hire someone to work for you, your hope is to get someone who'll pay as much attention and care to the work at hand as you yourself would. But if you're a realist, you know that's always going to be a bit of a long shot: after all, it's your stuff--it's rare to find someone who'll care about your stuff as much as you do. I originally contacted Rick to help us prepare our home for sale. We found him on ThumbTack after posting for maintenance repairs such as restoring our oak cabinets throughout the house, removing a deck with dry rot, and repairing old sheds. This was well after we contracted with Home Depot to install carpet/ lino throughout the house and contracted with a different painting contractor to paint the house inside and out (it had been a while since the last time the house had any work done to it so it looked a little beat up) When Rick saw the oak cabinets, sheds and decks, he made great suggestions for restoring all wood to beautiful conditions all well within reasonable rates. As he worked on the house we found new projects to add to the list and each came with a detailed estimate that made it easy to work with. Rick came up with quick and affordable ways for us to save money with beautiful results. Rick has a great eye for detail, and a desire to make what we had look its best. After Rick was done with the work on our home the flooring project with Home Depot turned in to a disaster. A simple lino project resulted with Home Depot’s contractor tearing the house apart with two of the three toilets left in the hallways. They damaged one of the toilets, removed the rubber base in such a way that it damaged the walls in the bathroom and kitchen and left the washer and dryer in the middle of the family room. The workers walked off the job with no notice and the contractor failed to contact us to discuss options. Following this debacle, their carpet installers put holes in the wall and knocked the plaster off the walls in other areas of the house. By this time, Rick’s work at our home was complete and he had moved on to other projects. All it took was one text message and Rick responded in under an hour and immediately worked our projects into his schedule. Not only did Rick and his father come to our rescue, they were helpful in pointing out the areas that needed to be corrected by the carpeting contractor. We now have beautiful tile floors in the kitchen and baths. He did a beautiful job installing baseboards, repairing and installing the toilets, painting the exterior, updating old ugly hand rails and boom, the house was transformed. One of the traits I most appreciated about Rick was his honesty, if he was not experienced with the work I requested, he simply said the project was outside of his scope of skills and passed on the job. Thanks to Rick’s work the value of our home increased by a considerable amount and it resulted in more than 1000 views in under 5 days on Redfin from the day it was listed. I have to give Valenz Construction and Valenz Painting my highest recommendation, I would go to them again for any work I need for our home and would quickly recommend them to my friends and family.
